Happier babies

When did your babies become happier ( if they were a fussy baby).
My baby just seems unhappy a lot of the time, if he’s not asleep or feeding he’s usually fussy and crying.
He has moments where he’s calm and engaging and it’s lovely but mainly he does just seem unhappy.
Does it get better? He’s 9 weeks old.

You’re in the trenches. Google “Purple crying” because that is likely what’s happening for you now. My baby was.. 8-12 weeks were rough! But the end is in sight. There is nothing you can do but ride the wave. But it will pass.

I would say 3-6 months were easier than 0-3. Then 6-9 were so bad! But then my second baby didn't go through much fussiness after 10 weeks so who knows! It will all pass though.

How long did you rest?

How long did you rest after a straight forward vaginal birth?

(Asking for this birth as I know c-section/complications require a different level of recovery).

I’m interested to know how quick you returned to household chores and general ‘mumming’ following birth of baby.

I love the idea of the 5-5-5 (5 days in bed, 5 days on the bed, 5 days around the bed) for rest, but I’m curious to know if anyone actually stuck to this or something similar, or if guilt got in the way!

I’m not coping

My 5 week old seems so unhappy. I don’t understand whats wrong. She hates being put down. She sleeps fine for the first half of the night, after her night feed she spends the next 3 hours grunting and squirming. She will have a bottle then squirms and cries after it, but not always. I feel like i’m failing her.

First words

My 14-month-old baby is not talking yet and hasn't said their first single word. However, they are babbling, pointing, waving, following instructions, and know a few baby signs.
My husband says it's normal since every child develops at their own pace, but my mother says he is late as he should have said a few words by now.
I've been paying close attention to them, and they have reached all other milestones. I don't know whether I should be concerned or just keep observing for now. Has anyone else been through this?
