5 month sleep regression / struggles / co sleep

My near 5 month old baby girl has on and off slept with me in bed since she was born, of course following safe sleep guidelines, I am fairly confident doing this and makes me feel peaceful and sleep better- same with her… however I can’t help but think I’ve hindered her sleeping due to my OCD when she was born.

She is definitely going through the sleep regression stage so sometimes I feel like I’m clutching at straws and my only way of a good night sleep for us both is if she comes in bed with me, this is because even with a sleep bag, hand on chest and placed into her crib in a deep sleep, she wakes pretty much instantly and falls back asleep as soon as I pick her up.

I’m starting to feel helpless as I know my habits of putting her next to me aren’t helping however it’s so hard as it seems the only way we both sleep! ( my partner is confident with me co sleeping but feels distant as I am not near him in bed so feels like it’s easier with her in the crib! ) HOWEVER he doesn’t do the night shifts …

Hey! It’s completely normal at this age. You could try using some white noise, or play different types of white noise on YouTube to see what she prefers.
If she uses a dummy, you can offer it to her as well. You could also try placing a T-shirt or muslin cloth that you’ve worn near her, so she can smell you and feel more settled and comforted. Hopefully one of these things helps her relax and settle. ❤️

Nappy changing help

So we only have this problem at night and it’s only a recent thing. So my son has been feeding a lot at night. Every 2 hours or so and completely emptying both sides before going back to sleep. This means his nappies at every wake up are extremely full. Every time I change him he pees or there is so much in the nappy it ends up all over his back and I have to change his clothes. I have tried a tissue over, I’ve tried putting the new nappy on and pulling the old one from under it (I guess like the knicker trick some of you may have done as kids) and it is still everywhere. I’m already exhausted getting up so often and having to do a full clothing change at night is a nightmare… please help!

Tips for sleep…

My 3 week old takes at least 1-2hrs to fall back asleep after her midnight feed, any tips to get her to sleep quicker? I rock her til my arms fall off, she doesn’t give a shit about white noise and startles herself awake a lot 😩 and any tips on transferring her to her cot without her waking up cos her sweaty head was sticking to my arm would be grand too! Thank you. ❤️

Sleep regression anxiety

Anyone else get anxiety towards the end of the day knowing their baby is going through a sleep regression? We are trying to sleep train him and night 1 went amazing, while night 2 was worse than the NB trenches.. I can literally feel my heart racing as the clock approaches his bedtime 😭 I don’t know if we should just accept that we are in the thick of it and try to sleep train him later or keep going?? Any advice helps PLEASE!!
(If you are anti-sleep training please scroll past this post as my husband and I have already decided we 100% are sleep training.)
