My baby girl is only a week old, so I understand this post may seem silly!
However, during the nights, I’m finding it difficult to transfer her back to her crib after getting her back to sleep following a nappy change and bottle. She stays on me for a good 20-30mins (if not, sometimes longer) after her feed so I know she’s in a deep sleep. As soon as I move her to her crib, she wakes up immediately and cries. My heart absolutely aches for her because I love the contact naps, but last night I could feel myself nodding off with her on my chest so I know I can’t safely allow her to do it during the night. During the day she’s absolutely fine. Does anyone have any advice on what may help, please?
She hates the swaddle haha, my scent is on her sheet, I soothe her when I put her down…I’ve done pretty much all the tricks that I’ve read upon!
I know it may seem silly considering her age, but I’m thinking from a safety perspective and would appreciate any advice!
Thank you in advance :) x

Have you considered safely co sleeping following the safe sleep 7, also have you tried putting her down feet, bum then head last? I feel like that’s quite a well known trick but just incase that’s always worked quite well for me x

Try warming her cot with a hot water bottle whilst you are cuddling

There is a trick you can use if you don't know it already, to determine if they are in a deep sleep - lift up her arm, and see if it stays suspended there when you let it go, or if it drops. If it stays suspended she is in active sleep, and likely to wake up if you transfer her. If it drops, she is in a deep sleep and you'll likely have better success.
That said, some babies really just don't want to be put down and have a sixth sense for when they are about to be. It may take time, but the more you are there to pick her back up when she cries, the more she will begin to trust that you are there next to her and not far away.
Also - newborns are very active sleepers. Make sure that when you hear her make noise, you don't pick her up unless she's actually crying, because you could inadvertently wake her without meaning to. Lots of newborn sleep noises (snuffling, gurgling) seem like "awake" noise, but are actually just active sleep.

Our boy is just three weeks and we seem to have cracked the code, we don’t really let him wake for feeds in the night we do dream feeds and then he stays on us for a little bit to make sure he’s in a really deep sleep again after eating and then we lower him in, making sure his bum touches the mattress first as this is supposed to minimise the startle reflex. We also use a love to dream swaddle and he’s super content in that but hated a ‘normal’ swaddle!

Thank you everyone for the advice! I’ll be taking these suggestions on board😊xxx

This has popped up on my feed although mine is an end of May baby - also hated trad swaddles but the love to dream arms up swaddle was an absolute saviour. I was losing my mind on no sleep by the time she was 3 weeks old, tried these and went to getting 90 minutes after cot transfer after starting using them on the first night to a few hours at a time within a week or two.
Very sad to have to transition out of them now to prepare for her learning to roll at 12 weeks and with her arms free I’ve gone from 1-2 wakes a night to 3-4.
How do you shower yourself and baby like where does he go when I shower

I made a checklist for baby and I think im almost there BUT wondering if there was anything you needed but didn't know until you needed it? This is my first so my list is pretty standard I think (obvious bits) .. any input would be appreciated 💕

My 5 week old seems so unhappy. I don’t understand whats wrong. She hates being put down. She sleeps fine for the first half of the night, after her night feed she spends the next 3 hours grunting and squirming. She will have a bottle then squirms and cries after it, but not always. I feel like i’m failing her.

I guess I am not going incognito because if anyone wanted to reach out they could
Throughout my current relationship (4.5years) it has been made clear to me that i have a lot of unattractive and difficult traits. I guess prior to meeting my partner I just believed I was just how I was? I had never done "deep inner work" " spiritual work" "self improvement" i had done it professionally and i guess i had phases where physically i did better but ultimately I have been told and i do see a lot of it that i find it hard to say sorry, to take accountability, i feel constantly attacked and offended and any conflict does make me most of the time walk out or say i need space i find it so over whelming.
Im currently having my 3rd baby in 3.5years and my son (2yrs2mo) had a liver transplant when he was 7mo old so a lot of hospital time, also my partner had a long long history of drug addiction which he overcame but he has not worked 95% of our relationship, i did before my 1st and 2nd but not since my son was diagnosed at 7wks old.
Im asking for maybe someone somewhere for advice or a chat, i keep feeling like im a narcissist, a bad mom a bad partner, i feel like my family are better off without me sometimes YET i have always tried so so hard to keep our whole life together shielding my family from any outside shit and ive handled every prescription/appointment, i do 99% of the housework and cooking, im not in contact with family and i cut off all my old friends pretty much then moved 4hrs away so no social support
Is anyone hearing this?
Thanks fran x

When did your babies become happier ( if they were a fussy baby).
My baby just seems unhappy a lot of the time, if he’s not asleep or feeding he’s usually fussy and crying.
He has moments where he’s calm and engaging and it’s lovely but mainly he does just seem unhappy.
Does it get better? He’s 9 weeks old.

My 14-month-old baby is not talking yet and hasn't said their first single word. However, they are babbling, pointing, waving, following instructions, and know a few baby signs.
My husband says it's normal since every child develops at their own pace, but my mother says he is late as he should have said a few words by now.
I've been paying close attention to them, and they have reached all other milestones. I don't know whether I should be concerned or just keep observing for now. Has anyone else been through this?
