The worst BF & Pumping Journey…

So my son is two weeks & five days old. When he was born I was exclusively breastfeeding him in the hospital for about two days then a nurse came in and gave him a pacifier (I wasn’t aware of the damage that thing could cause my journey) he continued to feed up until we got home and he fed one time then just completely rejected my boob…. I went into panic mode and tried to express milk so he wouldn’t go hungry but of course my milk hadn’t fully come in just yet so I only got colostrum and gave that to him. I then decided to combo feed (formula and BM) until I could get him back on the boob and until my supply increased… during my first pump I got about 4 oz and was really excited until my supply dropped… I haven’t seen a 4 oz day since. I have tried everything to increase my supply but I’m not getting anything more than an oz sometimes less…. I even got a lactation specialist who has tried to help me and my son. Come to find out, my son has lip and tongue ties that are making it harder for him to latch and now i think he just doesn’t want to try the boob.. I continue to try but tbh this is becoming mentally draining and emotionally exhausting feeling like I cant produce for my baby… I really want him to have breast milk but its starting to look like my son is going to be formula fed which breaks my heart honestly…. Today I tried to pump for almost an hour and got just about an ounce of milk out and guess what…my mom accidentally wasted it all on the couch and I’m just OVER IT!

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your supply... breastfeeding isn't easy nor straightforward unfortunately. I hope you manage to get somewhere that makes you happy! 🤞🏻

Your supply hasn't regulated yet, so you still might be able to do it.
You have probably tried already, but try to do skin to skin as much as possible, put baby to the breast even if he doesn't latch just to offer, make sure your pump is the right one for you (nipple size, pumping strength...). If the pump doesn't empty your breasts well, you won't be producing much milk.

Good luck 😊

I feel you... I am combo feeding. My baby boy definitely rejected my boob after the hospital. But I had already decided to bottle feed my breast milk if and when it came in. I was a little discouraged because I was only able to get an ounce between the two. Smh

The manual hand pump helped me get started when nothing was coming out. I saw a post from a woman that said to pump every two hours, regardless, even after breastfeeding and definitely at 2a/ 5a. So I started one day, and then the next, etc. So after I finally received my electric pump, now I'm up to 4oz thanks to my manual pump. I'm hopefully to get more if I stay the course of what the woman suggested. I hope this helps you.

Child self playing/ body awareness

Question how I should approach my 4.5 year old using the hot tub jets on himself. Ive had several conversations just how we dont do that etc but hes now like mom give me privacy so he can do it so I have to stay there and watch him which is just becoming like weird to me. I dont want him to feel shame but also dont know what I should allow. Do i stand there and watch that he doesnt do it, do i let him do it, do I go harsh and say when I see that you’re out? 🤷‍♀️

Any help appreciated!

At what point do I stop setting an alarm? My baby never let's me sleep 4 hours anyway, but shes now 7 week old and I still set an alarm for every 4 hours as directed in the early days!!

Not weeing during the night

Does anyone else’s LO not wee during the night?

My LG has a bedtime bottle and wakes sometimes once or twice for some water in the night but when she wakes her nappy is completely dry so I don’t change her. However, when she wakes in the morning, she’s weeing and leaking through because there’s so much.
