We dint let our MIL know that we were expecting our second one.But she planned her vacation around my due date and she is here with us from day one of our baby. She already complained twice to my husband that i am not letting her to hold my baby. This was when the baby was just 7 days old.She is not helping me with anything else , but interested in holding the baby all the time.I told her it will be helpful if you can free up some of time with cooking and housework, so i can spend more time with the baby.We do have a three year old who is going to daycare M-F, she is least interested in playing or engaging with him.Since the baby is two weeks old today, i was keeping her on the Momaroo baby swing near to my husband office, baby started crying and within a minute MIL rushed and tried to take her from the swing.I was near to swing patting her and my husband was watching us.I told her no need to hold the baby now and she just left and i can see that she was grumpy already, noticing that husband told me to give baby and i tried and she said no need.

I think she needs to respect your boundaries and she needs to stop being so focused on the baby.
My inlaws where exactly the same when I gave birth they just had tunnel vision eyes for baby and couldnt see what was happening around them ( I wasn't comfortable/I needed support with house stuff, wanted to be left)
This ended up in us falling out.
I would just sit down with her and talk and tell her you get she's excited about the baby but you need support with other stuff right now not just her holding the baby!
Is it normal for me to feel in way that i dont like my baby to be held by anyone else other than me and my husband? We dont have a fourth person at home to test this out.But anything to do with MIL just irritates me

Absolutely not wrong, the first few weeks are where you learn to bond with the baby, your hormones are crashing and healing and you should be in your baby bubble with your family (you, your husband and son) I can't believe she has come to stay so soon, I think that's so selfish and your feelings are absolutely valid. Especially because shes not helping you guys in any way and ignoring your son that's awful. I would definitely speak to her or ask your husband to sit and explain to her. She's been through child birth herself so it's sad she cannot relate.
Hi mummas, I’m just wondering if anyone else feels this way since becoming a mum.
How do you feel when it comes to receiving advice from family, friends or other people about your baby and the way you parent?
I completely understand that most people mean well, and sometimes advice can genuinely be helpful. But I’ve noticed that when I’m constantly being told what I should or shouldn’t be doing, or hearing things like “you should do this,” “try this,” or “I used to do it this way,” I can start to feel really frustrated and overwhelmed.
Sometimes I don’t necessarily want advice—I just want to be able to talk about something without feeling like I need to change what I’m doing. I also feel like constantly hearing other people’s opinions can sometimes make you second-guess yourself as a mum, even when you were originally confident in your own decision.
I’m curious whether other mums feel the same way. Do you usually appreciate advice and take it on board, or do you sometimes find yourself becoming frustrated by it? Have you found that becoming a mum has made you want more space to figure things out for yourself and trust your own instincts?
No judgement either way—I’d genuinely love to hear how other mums feel about this.

Any tips on just getting out more with the baby? She is 3 months old and fights her naps terribly, so once she’s tired she will just scream and in the house I have to stand and rock her so I worry about going out because she will scream in the car and when out in public but I’m going crazy being in the house or just wandering around the streets. It’s really starting to affect me 😢

Hello!
Due to various reasons we had to start feeding our baby with formula from birth - the main one was my milk coming in late. Ofc, baby got used to the bottle. I have been pumping and feed him expressed milk
Has anyone managed to get back to breastfeeding after bottle e feeding for a considerable amount of time? (2 months in our case)?
If you used a lactation consultant, was it successful? And how many sessions did it take?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

My MIL smells my kids feet every time we go over! She will do it in the most random of times and I think it’s odd behavior! She will also eat something that they took a bite out of every-time as well and again I think that’s odd behavior, she goes out of her way to do those things every-time we see her! Anyone else know someone who does this?? My kids are 2 and 6 btw.

My baby was on my boob for over 2 hours. Midwife said this was normal but it felt like a long time?!
