Hi Mamas, I am switching from working mom life to SAHM life this fall. Specifically it will be at the end of October. My son is 17 months now and will be 19 months when I am fully stay-at-home parenting.

1. What unexpected advice would you give me for this period now while I am still employed?
2. How would you handle the daycare to stay at home switch for my son's sake? 1 week of 3-4 days at day care, 1 week of 1-2 days, and then done? Slower transition?
3. On the scale of super regimented routine to absolute chaos, each day is different -- where are you? Is it by choice? What works and doesn't work with that style? Some moms swear by chaos and others swear by routine.
4. For moms who have made the switch when their little one was between 1 and 2, please tell me all the good, bad, and ugly about the switch.
5. We have a zoo pass and a museum pass (both gifts). What other kid friendly passes do you recommend?
6. What is the financial life saver trick that you swear by as a SAHM?
7. If anyone wants to be my SAHM mentor, please message me... I'm excited but nervous!

Hi! I just did this. Don’t be nervous. Wrap up your work stuff and pull him from daycare. Set up play dates and enjoy your time with him. Babies focus on what’s in front of them. He’ll love spending time with you.

Im new to being a mom but I was a nanny beforehand and I can tell you from my experience between school and summer time.
As far as daycare trasition and routine go, try to keep the same schedule the daycare had. Its what he is use to so it should make things a little easier. Same snack times, same nap times, activities and crafts, and bits of education mixed in.
Make sure he still socializes. Daycare is great about getting kids use to having friends and making them less clingy towards parents. Try taking him to the park, mommy and me groups if you can find them, story time at Barnes and noble or your local library. Anything to keep it from just being you and him all the time. Doesnt have to be every day though.
The zoo and aquarium are great, maybe find something that will help him burn energy that you can use as a treat/reward or just to break up the week day vs weekend. The last family I took care of had an unlimited pass to a trampoline park but theres more budget friendly ideas too.

Greatest advice I can say is still stick to getting up each day at a set time. That way you are able to get a lot more done house work or self care wise before your baby gets up for the day and you can focus on time with him once he is up. Also don’t have experience with the switch from daycare to being at home but I think sticking as close to the schedule of what he does during the day at daycare can help him transition to being at home and not in daycare anymore. I would also say check in with any children activities at your local library like story time to be able to still get your child that social interaction. Also maybe try to make some play dates with some of the kids in his daycare class.

you got this❤️❤️

For me it’s getting out of the house daily by 9:30! That’s even if you just go walk around Costco .
We do atleast one play date a week !

I am a weirdo who went job to full sahm in a day lol but my tip is GO TO THE LIBRARY! They have reading and activities and crafts and museum passes and it ingrains a love of books.
Not sure id call it a financial hace but I started a networking business to fill in the gaps because I hate selling stuff and needed something lol i can introduce you to the people that helped me if youre interested and they can give you some info
Got the below text from my babysitter. We're trying to work on potty training, but what is the best way to handle this, without him having to wear long pants since we live in Florida and it's HOT down here! He's 26 months and I also have a 7 month old that she watches during the day

Hey, so I’m taking my 10 month old to Tenerife next week (my first abroad holiday with her), and was just wondering what essentials I need, how did people deal with washing bottles and sterilising, what water to use, do I take a car seat? The hotel states they will supply the travel cot, but do I just take my own instead or will the one there be okay. Any help/advice would be great☺️

I’m sorry to be annoying but I just don’t understand childcare tax free account on the gov website. My boy is due to start nursery next week and I’d like to take advantage of the tax free but I just don’t understand it.
Could someone please spare some time to explain it to me please?
Thank you

I didn’t mean to, it was on impulse and I feel terrible. I was trying to change her diaper and she was thrashing and kicking me. Next thing I knew, I smacked her bare butt. She’s 20 months old and I know the behaviors that have been irritating me are normal for her age. I’ve had such a short fuse and been short on patience this last week and I don’t know how to fix it. I’m looking for any advice. I don’t want to treat her this way or be this kind of mom.

Hi guys! My baby is 4.5 months and i was wondering on whether or not to starts solids. Whenever me and my partner are eating she’s constantly focused on the food. She also puts anything from her hands to her mouth. Do you think I could start giving her purees like avocado?
