So when my MIL visits I always notice dirt under her very very long natural nails and the one time she didn’t wear perfume she had that smell (the seriously needs a shower BO smell).
She loves holding my baby and grabbing her little hands and feet and every time I see the hands it just gives me the biggest ick. 🤢
My husband and I aren’t OCD but we try to keep our fingernails short and clean and shower regularly. We also have the wash hands rule before touching the baby but a simple hand wash ain’t helping this…
I don’t know how to approach it with my husband or MIL. Obviously I don’t want to embarrass her but at the same time it’s disgusting 🤮
I feel like my baby senses my unease or the smell because whenever my mil tries to hold her she screams and cries straight away now 🙈 she’s usually fine with other people…
What do I do?

Man id use emojis too.. dont be afraid to talk to your spouse about stuff like that. Ask him how often does your mom bathe straight up or if she intermediary showers or if she's protesting for world peace by not showering?. 🤢🦨👃🏽😩🤱🏽🫢

My ex FIL (I say ex, because we arent in contact with him anymore) used to smell musty and mothbitten because he sat around doing nothing all day festering. He had death breathe because he clearly overlooked brushing his teeth. He is a single male, retired, no hobbies, no friends and enjoys his own company sitting indoors doing nothing. But that's no excuse for poor hygiene.
We used to see him once a fortnight and he couldn't even brush his teeth for that one occasion. It used to make me feel physically sick smelling him in my home and on my children and where possible he was avoided like the plague. Obviously he thinks I am a villain but it is not fair on my children nor me to have to put up with it. I had the conversation with my partner about how strongly I felt about it and he completely agreed and was on my side.
My partner and his sister had the conversation with their father but nothing changed and his hygiene is still incredibly poor. Ultimately some people never change!!

I would straight up tell hubby to tell her, to shower before she comes next. She should get the hint and say okay, she *shouldnt* question it, it should be a very simple ask actually. The problem only arises if she refuses. I’d start with that. “Mama next time you come see us can you just make sure to shower that morning, thanks”. That should be enough hint for most people, embarrassingly enough that someone has to ask you to do that. I have long nails, I have a nail brush there next to the hand wash so I can thoroughly brush the underside of them as I wash my hands coz I know just washing them, isn’t enough. People w long nails need to brush under them too. I scrub under them w a nail brush. Perhaps buy one and leave it next to your hand wash, it’s only a couple $.
The nursery has contacted on my sons second day at nursery to say that a baby has chickenpox. This baby was in the same room as my child.
Is there a high chance of him getting it? The baby was removed within 3-4, hours.
I havent had chickenpox myself so I am a bit worried hence me asking.
Are there any steps I can take?
Thanks all

My LG is 11 months (1 year in 3 weeks) and she is ALWAYS wanting to walk holding my hands. She does it really well and is barely putting any weight on my hands any more and she cruises confidently!
I've been trying to encourage her to take an independent step but every time I do, she crawls to me instead.
Any tips would be great!

My LO is 6 months old and hates being in the car. Sometimes she can tolerate a 10-20 minute journey by being distracted with toys, but once she starts crying she gets herself so worked up, which is so difficult when driving alone. I’ve tried her in the front (airbags turned off) and it worked for one journey but the journey back she was in hysterics by the time we got home.
I’m unsure if it has anything to do with the car seat, for reference she is 6 months old, and we have the joie I-level pro car seat, so it is fine for her age and weight/length, but unsure if the capsule car seat is causing discomfort.
Has anyone experienced this then changed to a bigger car seat and had better results, or any ideas how to keep her distracted? We do so many car journeys, and usually when I’m sat in the back with her she’s okay for a bit longer but once she’s in hysterics I have to take her out to calm her down
Any advice would be much appreciated!

Typically how many bottles do you have? I know it depends on how often you wash them etc. We have 4 at the moment but looking at buying a couple more to avoid washing as often.

My husband is on a bit of a self-improvement/discovery journey and mentioned yesterday about the idea of being celibate for a while to see if it improves his mental state focus on other things. He said that he is curious around how if would affect him. How would you feel?
