Something else would be never have to pick up my house again assuming that I had someone else to do that daily 😂

If the clothes were going to be washed dried and folded in a way that prevented them getting ruined or shrinking then absolutely that

Never have to clean/tidy would be better.

I actually like laundry, I just don’t have time for it with everything else that I have to do.

Never have to vacuum/mop!
I swear we have little elves hiding somewhere ready to come and season the floor immediately after vacuuming because it’s just never ending and I can’t cope with bits sticking to my feet and equally hate getting dirty socks because the floor needs mopping 😫 I’d kill for one of those robot vacuums that mop too

I don't mind as long as I'm not picking up after other people 🙄

LAUNDRY. We have a nice big dishwasher 😍 it was my Christmas gift 6 years ago lol. So when I feed the kids I just either start a load, put more plates in, or unload it while they eat. It's so much easier than hauling our laundry up 2 flights of stairs bc we live in a condo. Don't get me wrong it gets up there. The kids clothes are always put away. It's our clothes 😂🫣

Family boundaries

My in laws are super helpful and well meaning and we generally have a good relationship. However lately I feel sometimes uneasy, my MIL will hover around when im trying to settle my daughter or put her to sleep. And then offer to take over if it is taking a while. I know this is just out of worrying that I'm tired and trying to help me relax and take the load off when possible. However I would rather just settle my daughter myself if needs be. Dont know how to deal with it without it being awkward

Am I being irresponsible or is he being unreasonable?

So I’m trying to get dressed this morning in the master bathroom, and my one year old is playing in the master bedroom. I have the door open and I’m keeping an eye on her, but I’m going about my business brushing my teeth and what not. Now I’m NOT getting dolled up here —really just the minimum steps to get ready for the day. We have carpet and really there’s nothing she can get into in there. Sometimes she opens my dresser drawer and pulls out all the pants but .. whatever honestly. It makes her happy.

My husband is pissed saying I’m being irresponsible and the baby can pinch her fingers in our dresser drawers or fall into the furniture or whatever. He’s inventing about 10 different ways she’s going to hurt herself, but …. She’s fine. This is how I get ready everyday and really our room is pretty baby proofed in my opinion. I told him if he had an issue he is welcome to take a few minutes out of his day to watch her so I can get ready for once, but this is how I manage everyday and today is no different.

He is pissed saying he doesn’t have time for that because he has chores to do, he has to mow the lawn, etc etc etc.. so I say, FINE go do those things. The baby and I are good chilling right here minding our business like we do everyday! I’m a sahm and I watch her by myself 99.98% of the time. I have a good sense of what is safe and what’s a hazard by this point.

I also remind him that he has the luxury of sleeping in for an extra hour this morning while I took care of her. He got to workout this morning. He got to eat his breakfast in peace and then take a shower. Give me a break! I’m not even asking for help and I don’t care, but don’t you dare criticize me when you don’t even watch the baby.

Am I really being irresponsible for letting a one year old play in the next room while I get ready? Or is he being unrealistic because he doesn’t even know what it’s like to take care of a baby by himself?

Anyone else?

My little boy is going to be 10 months in a week and things are so tough.

He needs a lot of entertaining to sit in his high chair which can be exhausting 3 times a day. Impossible in restaurants, wants to get out and crawl on the floor.

He doesn’t really do independent play for more than 5-10minutes. He then follows me around wanting to be held or tries to get in cupboards and drawers and empty them etc.

He hates the car seat, unless he’s due a nap otherwise he screams to get out.

And he also hates sitting in the pram for more than 5-10mins unless he’s due a nap. I had to carry him back from the shop the other day, 11kg of weight killing me (I’m 5ft 1 and around 53kg myself).

It’s just really hard to get out and do things because it’s impossible to hold him for too long and I can’t bear to leave him to cry. It’s also really hard to get anything done in the house. We don’t do screen time at the moment either. Thank god he does go down for his naps (sometimes) so that buys me an hour to rush round doing what I need.

Anyone else relate? I know we can’t compare as every baby is different but I can’t help feel like I see babies all the time just calmly sitting in their prams, high chairs etc and I wonder what I’m doing wrong!

Good presents for 1 - 2 year old

My son turns 1 a month after Christmas so to avoid duplicates and (sadly) ‘tat’ I’m going to make a wish list so family can buy something from that if they wish.

I need some inspo, so what is your child’s most used items / toys from age 1 - 2 or more practical items for that age?

As both Christmas and birthday are close, i’m happy to put items away until he is a little older or the seasons change.

Thanks

First time stay at home mom.

Hey so I’m currently a stay at home mom, I have a one yr old son. I’ve honestly just been going through the motions and trying to get adjusted. My husband just started a new job therefore he will be handling all the major financial bills that we share. I’m used to being independent and having my own so it’s hard for me to accept currently, because I still need income coming in to do things I want. 👍🏼 I’m dealing with a lot of stress right now because I don’t know what to do, it’s a million things on my conscious & I’m trying to figure out everything at once but most is out of my control. I’ve been wanting to connect & be open with other moms but sometimes I feel the need to distance myself because I fear that no one could relate. I just want to hold my end of the table and I just don’t feel as if I’m doing enough. Please comment down below any tips…💕
