My baby is 9 days old and isn’t waking up much in the night for a feed. He usually varies and wakes up twice.
Last night he slept from 11pm-4am. I tried to wake him around the 3 hour mark for a feed but he didn’t want it at all.
Is this okay for him or is it too long of a stretch without any milk in the night ?

My girl you are so lucky mine wakes up only at night and and 6 days old with a c section

I think it depends if he’s back up to his birthweight yet or not- if he is then midwives would say to leave him and enjoy the sleep! X
Yeah he actually didn’t lose any weight post birth he gained it ! But thank you that reassuring x

My son is the same, I panicked and went to my midwife and a breast feeding group- they all said that if he is having plenty of dirty and wet nappies and gaining weight then don’t panic about waking him. My son has incredibly long feeds first thing in the morning and his last one of the day too which I think helps him sleep through most of the night :) (I acknowledge that this is incredibly lucky!)

As nice as it is to have the sleep, they can’t stabilise their blood sugar at this age so need regular feeds at least every 3/4 hours. Baby may be jaundiced too which contributes to sleepiness. My baby is also 10 days old and was in the same boat. Her jaundice levels were very high on day 5, and then midwife told me to feed every 3 hours. Jaundice went right down but still have to do the 3 hour feeds for now. She would happily sleep for 5 hours. I have to strip her down and change her halfway through to wake her x
I have an almost 2 year old daughter
She’s my whole life I adore her
I had a bit of a meltdown yesterday
We found out we’re having another daughter & I absolutely weeped like I mourned a son that was never meant for me
I dreamed up an entire world with my daughter & this second child being a son & it’s hit me so hard knowing now that won’t be my reality
I’m finding it really difficult to accept
Has anyone felt this way
I see all kinds of families around me with & without children with boys with girls with a mix etc
I am so grateful for everything I have
I just can’t help this feeling
My heart aches

My baby boy is 14 weeks and recently has been getting up earlier and earlier in the morning, he goes to bed 7-7.30pm and wakes once or twice in the night and wakes up at 7.. but now it’s 6am, 5.30, 5.15am. Any advice please, is he going to bed too early?

Hi all, this is very much a first world problem but thought it doesn’t hurt to ask. Our house is very small and so my PC/desk is in the nursery and the room is kind of split in half, I use it to game and create crafts on the side which I sell. Usually, I do this when baby goes to bed around 7pm as he’s not sleeping in that room yet and I get a good few hours every night and honestly I love this time it just makes me feel human again. Soon, our son is going to have to move into that room and I’m worried this means I won’t be able to use the room anymore in the evening as I literally have no where else in the house my desk can go. I just wondered if anyone was in a similar situation and either tried to use the room quietly and if that worked?

Hey there I’m a ftm and been home with my baby for 6 months. I enjoy it but I’m also wanting to provide more for her by getting an education or mentorship. What age do you think is gonna be the best to start setting those goals? Right now I feel like I’m too busy with her and keeping up with our house.

Is my son the only one who watches Ms. Racheal and responds no when she asks if he can say or do something? It’s adorable and hilarious but should I be concerned? lol

Any advice on baby sleeping in the next to me? My 2 week old will sleep so well on me but when I transfer he does half the time or will wake up straight away. 👶
