Planned c section nerves

I have my planned c section this week due to baby being 95th percentile and I don’t want to be induced im absolutely petrified I have never had surgery in my life, I’m also scared of the recovery but at the same time I cannot imagine being induced .

I have said if baby comes naturally before then I will try but yeah I also told family when it is and the judgemental comments have come rolling in which is making me doubt everything.

Any advice tips and tricks?

I ended up with an emergency C-section and I won't lie, recovery was hard but much better than I expected! Don't be afriad to ask for help, from midwives and family - use them!! A water bottle with a bendy straw was an absolute lifesaver so you don't have to sit up to drink. Lots of pillows around the house so you can get comfy. And keep moving, frequent but small amounts so you don't push yourself too much. I hope it all goes well!

If they are happily giving you the option of having the baby naturally, that means they aren’t concerned like some places that the baby is ‘ too big’ to birth?
If you went for the drip induction you could ask for an epidural so you don’t actually have to go through the induction pains etc
But the recovery for a natural birth is always going to be better than a csection. We were designed to give birth but not to be operated on to deliver a baby. However you’ll be fine either way! I had a csection emergency and was devastated but I wish I could have at least had an epidural beforehand to save me all that pain before having to have the surgery anyway 🥲

Mine was a planned c section I was to scared in giving birth due to nurses/doctors scaring me he was going to be a big baby and that his shoulders would get stuck scared me.
Never had surgery before either I was so scared but tbh looking back it’s not that bad…

Just make sure your up and walking soon as your able and make sure you have help as I struggled with the recovery xx

Firstly, the judgemental comments can do one - it’s your body, your birth and your baby. No one gets to have an opinion unless they are baby’s mum, dad or a doctor 🧡
I had an elective section for a few reasons and it was the right choice for us and whatever your reasons for having a section are the correct ones for you.
I had a lot of surgeries as a child so this wasn’t new to me but, as cliche as it sounds, just try to remain calm. I read a book while I was waiting for my section, other women were watching tv shows on their phone - enjoy those last few hours of being child free if you can.
If you’re nervous of needles, they don’t show you if they can help it and just look away if you need to, the spinal is seconds and then it’s done the just relax as they bring your beautiful baby into the world.. I was chatting to the doctors and nearly fell asleep I was so relaxed 🤣

As for any judgemental comments - just shush them with a sassy comment
I’m here if you wanted to talk further 🧡

I didnt wantna c section either, but ended up having a emergency c section and it wasnt great, there was no time for proper prep, and recovery was hard. So my advice to people is if they are suggesting a scheduled c section do it because a scheduled c section is better than emergency. 2 of my friends had c sections 2 months later and they went sooo smoother and better recovery. ❤️ you will also be amazed what your body can handle when you have a tiny human to care for lol

I had an elective c-section in December. Recovery is of course painful for the first few days but isn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be!

My surgery itself was calm, the surgical team were great and I have nothing bad to say about the experience. The worst part of the whole thing was having the cannula put it before going down for surgery!

I had a planned c section in November, it was absolutely the right decision for me. I was very nervous that day, and we were waiting until 4pm which didn't help however the staff were fantastic - they made me feel so at ease and I didn't feel unsafe at any point. There was a lovely atmosphere in the theatre, they do it day in day out! Personally, I found the recovery fine. The first day or 2 is tricky, it's very difficult to walk or to even stand up straight but I then found I was able to move around very easily and I was driving after a few weeks. The only time I felt my scar a little was if I lifted something (which I shouldn't have!) like the baby carrier for example. The hardest part for me was pysching myself up to look at the scar in the mirror!! And I couldn't believe how neat and subtle it was when I finally plucked up the courage.
Best of luck, it will be a distant memory before you know it X x

I just had a C-section 9 days ago. This was my second C-section. Before my first which was an emergency C-section I had never had a surgery in my life either, not even broken bones so I was terrified. Anyway going into my C-section 9 days ago even though I had been through it once my anxiety was through the roof.

1. When you get the Spinal or Epidural you might feel like you have a weight on your chest or like you can’t breathe. You need to focus on the breathing as much as possible.
2. It goes easier if you have someone with you during everything, so if you have somebody to be there ofc have them with you.
3. Obviously it doesn’t hurt but it feels weird as hell and you might make a few faces during the process. You will feel a little tugging here and pulling there. I promise its all worth it
4. If you can, be tired. You are allowed to fall asleep during the process. Might make it easier idk.

It says this is to long so if you need you can message me with questions or anything els

I had a planned c section for the same reason and trust me it was the most beautiful experience!
I didn’t want an induction either

I had my golden hour with the baby so definitely ask for this just cause it’s a c section doesn’t mean you can’t have this

The recovery was not that bad just make sure you get up and walk as soon as you can this helps a lot. Try and pop a chewing gum as soon as you are out of surgery - this does massive help for gas 🙈
I had coconut water as well throughout to help
Happy to chat if you need ! All the best you got this xxx

Real Life Hospital Bag Needs

Hey lovely moms! I’m 36 weeks now and I’m trying to get everything together 😂

What is ACTUALLY needed in the hospital bag? I’m sick of seeing all the social media influencers and what they bring.

I imagine clothes for a few days, unsure if i bring pads and such? Also, I plan on exclusively pumping so do I bring my breast pump with me? I see some people do, and some people don’t.

Any advice helps, thank you ♡

Waking up to some breast discharge 28w

Anyone else been waking up to some crusty breast discharge? It’s not every day and looks like just a drop or two and usually only from one breast or another. A Google search says it’s normal but I’m just curious as to how many of us are actually experiencing this.

Edit: when I say crusty, I mean that’s how it dries on my shirt, I don’t actually know how it looks before it dries as it happens during sleep.
