Breastfeeding

I have a 3 week old baby who is breastfed only but seems to cluster feed and seems really unsettled most times. I know shes getting enough milk and is also gaining weight but the constant crying is frustrating and makes me want to cry. I am trying to feed her more upright so she is not laying down and also keeping her upright after feeds but any advice? As I feel like im failing as a mother 😢

Do you think she could have a little bit of colic?? X

Are you burping her in between feeds? A common misconception is that bf babies don’t need burping like formula fed. My baby is bf and needs regular burping. She does massive burps šŸ˜‚ x

My 3 week breastfed baby gets a lot of wind while feeding and needs burping multiple times in the middle of feeds. He gets really unsettled when needing burping

-Reclined position
-Pace feeding / taking them off the breast during feeds to wind them
-Taking the baby off when you can feel your letdown (let it go into a muslin)

All of these things will hopefully help. Remember breastfeeding is hard and you’re doing a great job at trying to persevere with it.

Also remember cluster feeding is normal but that doesn’t make it less hard. I cried so much because I have a 98th percentile baby who fed every hour almost for 9 weeks. It does get better ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹

How much is she burping post feed, if she isn't getting it up could be causing gas that comes out the other end and be very painful. Try different burping techniques and also ways to break wind like bicycle legs and gentle abdo stroking/massage.
Good luck hopefully helps.

Silent reflux

Any advice is needed!

Little boy is 4 months next week and we have been struggling with this for at least 2 months now 😫 the last thing we have tried is infant gaviscon which helped for two weeks and then the constipation started badly. We have decided to come off that and just go back to his milk with nothing in. Which has helped him poo. His reflux is slowly coming back, he’s not being sick he’s just so uncomfortable all day screams in pain. Anyone got any advice to what steps are next? 😫😫😫

Silent Treatment

We didn’t have sex when he wanted to on Friday night so he hasn’t spoken to me since. šŸ˜•

Backstory…my day on Friday started at 6am. Starting with getting the kids ready for school, followed by a zillion errands & chores when I got back home that I didn’t finish until well into the evening. After dinner, i get our youngest ready for bed & it’s a struggle getting her to sleep bc she’s not feeling well. I finally get her to sleep around 12:10am. I’m SPENT at this point so I go to our bedroom & lay in the bed close my eyes just to unwind. 12:13am my husband strolls into the room expecting sexy time. He says ā€œare you really sleeping right now?ā€ I say ā€œšŸ˜‘ I’m trying toā€ He leaves the room about 2 minutes later & doesn’t come back. He hasn’t spoken to me since. This feels like manipulation šŸ¤”

breast/formula feeding

Mums who CHOOSE not to breastfeed because they simply just don’t want to (even with a milk supply) why don’t you pump instead of using formula???

this isn’t an attack! just asking out of curiosity!

What would you do?

We're struggling with how to arrange the rooms.

We have a 3 bed property.
We have the largest room.
Daughter (4) has the 2nd largest.
Smaller room is currently an office.

I'm pregnant.

Option 1: Office turns into baby room.
Option 2: Daughter moves into office, 2nd room gets turned into play room/baby room.
Option 3: They share biggest room (eventually). We move into 2nd room. Office turns into playroom.

When did you feel comfortable going out with your newborn?

I'd love to hear from other mums—how long did it take before you felt comfortable leaving the house with your newborn? Were there things that helped you build confidence for those first outings? My daughter is now 7 weeks and she seems happy going on a walk for like 10 minutes until she starts crying for me to take her out of the stroller. I want to be able to go on daily walks and get a coffee and chill but she has no chill right now. I know she’s just a baby but I have friends that started going out with their baby at 2 weeks! So I’m starting to feel like I missed out on something…any advice is appreciated šŸ™

Husband wanting me to stop exclusively breastfeeding

My little one has just turned 6 months and my husbands starting to get annoyed at the fact I’m still breastfeeding on demand. We also have a 2.5 year old and my husband is getting annoyed at how long it’s taking us to leave the house etc. and saying we should start formula feeding as it’s fairer on our toddler. To be fair to him he also says he would like to have a part in it and would like to give me a break which is fair enough but I find it easier breastfeeding and just get overwhelmed when I’m trying to get the kids ready and out and he’s having a tantrum because we’re late leaving . Does anyone else have this ?
