When did you feel comfortable going out with your newborn?

I'd love to hear from other mums—how long did it take before you felt comfortable leaving the house with your newborn? Were there things that helped you build confidence for those first outings? My daughter is now 7 weeks and she seems happy going on a walk for like 10 minutes until she starts crying for me to take her out of the stroller. I want to be able to go on daily walks and get a coffee and chill but she has no chill right now. I know she’s just a baby but I have friends that started going out with their baby at 2 weeks! So I’m starting to feel like I missed out on something…any advice is appreciated 🙏

Have you tried a body wrap for her? I’m getting one, think it will be handy for when i need to run the shop quickly for milk and stuff x

I spent 12 days in hospital with my baby boy as he was 6 weeks early so once we was out all I wanted to do was leave the house i didn't want to be copped up in 4 walls. If ur daughter is crying to get out of her stroller you should invest in a baby carrier especially if uve not long changed her nappy and fed her. She probably just wants cuddles and to feel safe

use a carrier! or start in the pram and have carrier as back up. walks to a coffee van and walk around the park- I try and do this most days with my 7 week old. she's more chill out and about, sleeps longer etc she's less chill at home so I try go out everyday with her.

2 days after my C-Section, I was out for a short walk with my first. Then a few days later it was a longer walk to the midwife

My office is in the nursery

Hi all, this is very much a first world problem but thought it doesn’t hurt to ask. Our house is very small and so my PC/desk is in the nursery and the room is kind of split in half, I use it to game and create crafts on the side which I sell. Usually, I do this when baby goes to bed around 7pm as he’s not sleeping in that room yet and I get a good few hours every night and honestly I love this time it just makes me feel human again. Soon, our son is going to have to move into that room and I’m worried this means I won’t be able to use the room anymore in the evening as I literally have no where else in the house my desk can go. I just wondered if anyone was in a similar situation and either tried to use the room quietly and if that worked?

Speaking up about PPD

Hey I had a situation today with my therapist. I really trusted her and spoke up about how I was feeling after holding it in for a while because it felt scary to talk about. My therapist reassured me that my feelings are normal after birth and that I would not get into trouble. I asked her 4x in therapy if the way I was feeling would get me in trouble and she reassured me I was not. Today she calls me and tells me I have to go to the ER or I will have crisis at my house. I had no plans. I had no intent . I only discussed an intrusive thought at an overwhelming moment. It was just scary. However I know I wouldn’t act on it. I was
More scared that my mind thought of that intrusive thought. My mom’s a nurse and she has told me this was wrong. The thing that bothers me about this whole situation is that there really is no support after birth for PPD and no one talks about it to prepare you for when it happens to you. I don’t feel like the healthcare and justice systems do a great job at making women feel they can speak up. My therapist ruined the idea of therapy being a safe space, she lost all of my trust, and now I don’t feel like I can speak to doctors or another therapist again. I see a psychatrist next week and I’m just horrified now to tell him anything- small or big.

My therapist worked on teaching me to speak up to healthcare professionals and not allowing myself to be dismissed. She didn’t tell me at the end of the therapy session that she was thinking I was unsafe. When she called me today she didn’t explain why she was sending me to the ER, after being in therapy the day before being reassured it’s all normal, I’m not crazy and she said word for word “I don’t see the need for any legal intervention.” Then why did Crisis show up at my door today?

Has anyone else gone through this? I’m having a a hard time wanting to post this , but I feel so betrayed by my therapist. I want to speak and talk to someone but now I don’t feel I can. I kinda feel small and in a corner.

Sleep regression 11 week old preemie.

FTM and any advice would be amazing. Can my baby go through a sleep regression at 11/12 weeks, 1 week adjusted.
He just will not be put down to bed, as soon as he is laid down he is wide awake and crying. He is absolutely fine when held, fast asleep, calm and goes back to sleep quite quickly.
I’m also wondering when to start a routine with him as at the moment we are on demand feeding and just going with flow of when he is awake and sleep, me and my partner are taking it in shift on a night but he is due to go back to work soon and the last thing I want is to be awake all night because he won’t settle and then struggle during the day with him sleeping most of the day. This is what is happening at the moment, literally asleep most of the day, if we wake him he screams the place down or as soon as he wakes wants feeding even if only feed 1hour ago and sometimes not even that.

I know things are different with him being 11 weeks prem but just want some help/ advice, thank you!

Sleep

My baby is 9 days old and isn’t waking up much in the night for a feed. He usually varies and wakes up twice.
Last night he slept from 11pm-4am. I tried to wake him around the 3 hour mark for a feed but he didn’t want it at all.
Is this okay for him or is it too long of a stretch without any milk in the night ?
