24 weeks pregnant and Iām honestly starting to panic I havenāt bought much for the baby yet and Iām on a really tight budget (around Ā£1k a month).
Thereās SO much to buy and I have no idea whatās actually essential vs whatās just marketing š
If youāve had a baby recently, what would you say I actually need before baby arrives, and what can wait?
Also if you know any good cheap places, baby banks/charities or ways to get things for less, please tell me š„¹ā¤ļø I need all the help I can get.

Dm me I can help x happy to do so

The only things you 100% need are a safe sleep space i know a moses basket in the uk can be as cheap as Ā£35 and thatās all they need sleepwise for 2-3m which then buys you time to get something bigger, a car seat this is 100% the thing you want to spend the most on it doesnāt need to cost Ā£600 but a cheap (less than Ā£50) car seat is cheap for a reason again in the uk you can get either the avionaut cosmo or britax baby safe core for around Ā£100 and theyāre really good car seats, clothes for them to wear you can get secondhand for this just give them a wash first and a way to feed them if youāre breast feeding this is cheaper but if youāre using bottles youāll need the bottles themselves own brand ones are absolutely fine and usually cost Ā£1 a bottle and a steriliser which you can get for around Ā£15 for a cheap microwave one. Pretty much everything else is optional and can wait until theyāre here x

Itās so overwhelming on what to buy but honestly they need so little in those first few months.
The essentials I would say are a bedside/next to me or a cot it you have space to fit it, pushchair/travel system if you get the bassinet part with the pushchair, buy a stand and you can use that as a bassinet in the house as well saves money as they grow so quickly.
Invest in a good quality newborn sleepsack for nighttime and a bath seat is useful to cradle them as you wash.
Playmat, bouncer, tummy time activities, high chair etc. buy after baby is born as you reach those milestones and you need them. Saves money and space.
Vinted is great to save - buy bundles to save and as soon as baby grows out of anything sell to build up credit to buy the next size- saves a fortune xx

Not super cheap but I recommend The Nursery Store for prams and stuff (I got a 3-in-1 package for around £350)
I think the only things that are super necessary are a babycot and clothes (newborn and 0-3) and bare in mind that if babyās born a bit smaller/thinner you may have an added expense at birth of e.g. āup to 10 lbsā clothes
Baby can sleep in the baby cot on your bed and itās not recommended for them to be in their own room until 6 months anyway. Iād also recommend a car seat to get home from the hospital in. The nursery store bundle that I mentioned earlier included one in the price as well as a bunch of other things

Has anyone successfully worked from home while watching their baby? I return to work in November and considered doing this until my son is 1 at least

I've been friends with these lovely ladies since our uni days. We used to meet up, go out, etc. Since finishing uni, getting married, and having my baby, we don't really talk much anymore, which is fair enough, we're all busy with life.
After I gave birth, I had my baby's naming ceremony a few months later. None of them could make it. One said it was too far, one had work, one didn't even open my message to see the invite, and another had travelled. Since having my baby, not one of them has come to visit me.
Now, 6 months into motherhood, they're suggesting we all meet up and go out. I honestly can't be bothered. Am I overreacting?
What also doesn't sit right with me is that no one has made the effort to come and see me, but now they want to meet halfway and bring my baby along? It almost feels like they want to see the baby now that it's convenient for them. That doesn't really sit well with me.
We have a group chat, and I haven't replied to the messages about meeting up yet. They want us to meet halfway since we all live in different places.
Would you:
- Not go at all?
- Go but leave the baby at home with my mum?
- Or just say I'm not comfortable bringing my baby out yet?
For context, she's exclusively breastfed. The only place I've really taken her is to one wedding with my husband. We haven't done trains or long trips yet, so I'm genuinely not comfortable with that either.
I think I'm feeling a bit hurt because none of them have made the effort to visit me during these past 6 months, especially when becoming a mum has been such a huge life change.
Am I doing too much, or would you feel a bit off too? I lowkey donāt want to go tbh , but would be nice just to go out!

Just curious about what other mums would do. My brain isnāt braining night now,
We have a 2 night stay at the park coming up, at the time we will be there the park will be closing by 4pm which is annoying, 6pm on the weekend.
We arrive on a Thursday and leave on Saturday, Iāve just realised now that check in is after 3pm and checkout is by 10amš. I called to check if parking times are affected by hotel check in or out times and theyāve said no but I donāt know if I should use the tickets for Thursday Friday, or Friday Saturday?
Our kiddo naps at 1-2ish, and wonāt sleep in a moving car lol. So either stationary in the car or in the room. Hubby says we should get there early the Thursday and use the ticket for Thursday Friday and let her nap in the car parked up, Iām thinking Friday Saturday so we have the whole days kind of, and she can nap in the car stationary I guess. But all our stuff would be packed up into the car so weāll basically be āoutsideā all day which isnāt great but isnāt terribleā¦ š¤·š»āāļø
Itās annoying that the park closes so early given the ride waiting times, the time it takes to get around. Youād think itād be quieter in September after back to school but it isnāt, the rooms we wanted were almost gone. Also if anyone has recommendations for other stays or trips in the UK that are great for a 2 year old please share!!

Hello girlies,
Growing up in an African set up,girls and boys were not allowed to mingle. At adolescence,we would be told not to come closer to boys or men because we would get pregnant. I was a virgin till university that's when I got a boyfriend.
Considering what l was told about sex while still young,l view sex a reproduction rather than a pleasurable experience.
I've been married for 5years, blessed with a 4yr baby boy.
My marriage is hitting the rock bottom since l don't even think about sex. L enjoy the foreplay but penetration is so scary for me since l fear having another baby.
I feel sex interferes with my personal space,my body by dumping dirt in/on me. There's a time we had some issues and went two sex less months,l enjoyed.
Kindly advice on how to reorganize my thought processes
