Ive only got one child (24 months) and my partner and I pretty much never get to watch or do anything we like. He is a very intense child...he also will not go to sleep before 9 so we either have to stay up really late to do any of our stuff (as my partner does) or just clean up, shower, and bed (like me...i need sleep way more then him)
We have toddler cartoons on like teletubbies sometimes at home but he loses his shit if we try and put on our TV or regular channels. He will go and get the remote and shove it at us and cry until we put his stuff on...
I feel he's ruling the roost a bit now....because I have pretty low tolerance for constant moaning and crying and struggle to constantly come up with new activities that he won't break or make a total mess with

What time does he wake up and nap (if he still naps?). Maybe trying to push bedtime forward might make it abit easier? My nearly 21 month old goes to bed between 7-7:45. So it gives us a couple of hours in the evening to ourself :)

We take turns on who watches the tv my sons get cartoons on more but I put on one of my shows during each meal while he focuses on eating . I do often stay up late tho out of habit . I’m a big reader so I can read on my phone and kindle while cartoons are on for my toddler and my baby naps. He may honestly need less screen time and just more time playing with blocks or other toys.

My daughter is two years old. She tries to hand me the remote and ask for Elmo or Miss Rachel but I say no, not right now, and distract her with something else. I can't have her ruling the house at 2 years old. She can watch TV when I let her, not whenever she wants. We color, do playdoh, finger paint, play with blocks, read books, go on walks, etc. She goes to bed between 8-9, and then sometimes my husband and I will watch a 20 minute show together. We also make the best out of nap time on weekends, and spend time together then. I know it's hard, just try to remember this is a temporary season in life.
i’m on the verge of being on my own with my son from a situation i no longer wanna be in. i was looking to see if anyone knows of any kind programs for single moms with a child. Like I appreciate he may be doing jobs that are on his todo list in his mind, but nothing that is actually helpful in the moment. It seems like he can't prioritise.
For example we have a 5 month old baby and a 3 year old. Our 3 year old goes to nursery in the mornings. My husband is off work atm, I'm a SAHM, so we are both around.
This morning, I wake up at 6:30 with baby, take her downstairs so she doesn't wake everyone, feed her, change her, dress her. At around 7:00 I make my 3yos breakfast so it's ready for him when he comes downstairs. He wakes around 7:15 so I go get him and bring him down. My husband also comes downstairs at this point.
I help my son with his breakfast, baby is in her swing for now.
I make up my sons bag for nursery, fill his water bottle, I clean and put baby's bottles in the Steriliser, I dress 3yo, I take him upstairs to use the toilet, brush his teeth and wash his face, I style his hair.
I then come back downstairs and immediately smell that baby has pooped, so I say to my husband can you not smell that? He says no. I change babies nappy again.
I tell my son to go get his shoes on, I get the pram unfolded for baby. My husband finally appears to help 3yo with his shoes and jacket, puts his own shoes on and then just stands around. I put baby in her pram etc, we all get outside to leave just on time and then my husband is like oh I need to pee 🤦🏻♀️ What was he doing all morning? The recycling was sitting on the kitchen ledge, he didn't take that out. He didn't put the breakfast dishes in the dishwasher, I don't actually know what he was doing? Like he just sort of faffs?? Makes cereal for himself and looks at stuff and just sort of *exists*.
Yes I can ask him for help, and sometimes he will help more without asking, but it makes me so annoyed to have to ask in the first place. I'm already busy managing our morning so we aren't late, we both have the same responsibilities, we both know what needs done, idk why I need to be the family manager.

Does anyone have a partner that works graveyard?
Do they still show up to help with the kid(s)? Like hangout with them. Help put them to bed. Helps brush teeth.
Or do they not because they’re tired and need to get ready for work?

I'm on the verge of tears, I feel like I'm going insane.
She says she's hungry, I get her food she doesn't want it, I make something else, she doesn't want it. Is been a recurring cycle all day.
I have followed the advice to give her soft bland foods and cool food but I don't know what to do anymore... I've tried porridge, mash potato, eggs, ice pop, yoghurt, mashed banana, scrambled eggs.
Then she screams and cries for icecream.
I have given her medicine to help.
Please any advice would be appreciated if you have been through this. Please share good recommendation.

Sometimes he will go pee and poop in his pull up with telling me and other times he never tells me. I leave the bathroom door open for him. I say pee goes in potty and poop. He pees in his underwear sometimes. How do I get him out of pull up at night for bed when he sleeps? How long should I wait after meals or drink to take him to potty. He seems to go potty in pull up and then tell me potty. He does use the potty for pee.
