My daughter is almost 8 months old, so I’m starting to feel like maternity leave is at an end. She’ll be going to nursery in January. For so long I’ve felt anxious about leaving her with strangers. Although, recently I’ve found it so difficult looking after her. She’s so fussy, making whining noises all day for no obvious reason. She constantly needs distracting, or won’t nap unless I’m lying with her. It’s all so exhausting. I’m wondering if any mummas out there actually found relief in their child being looked after at nursery - like it’s having a break from the exhaustion of constantly being needed (while still missing her of course). Could it actually benefit our relationship, that she comes home and I’m happy to spend all my time with her?

Nursery is incredible! my daughter has been going since 9 months and is now 18 months and absolutely loves it. she’s cried maybe 5 times on the way in since going but I can always acquaint that to a bad night or something else. The nursery staff are so lovely and supportive with every question that I ever ask them, and they post regular updates so that I can keep an eye on her and not worry so much. It has definitely improved my mental health and overall exhaustion having time to myself to get housework done or studying/assignments as i’m a student. and you’re right in saying it definitely has improved my relationship with my daughter and the excitement of parenting again as i’m not so overwhelmed i have time and energy to plan fun days out/ actvivites etc. Also, 8 months is a great time for her to start if she does as they don’t tend to have that ‘stranger danger’ sense so strongly yet and the transition is a lot easier before that kicks in soon! my vote is do it! xxx

Absolutely

My kids ADORE nursery, every Sunday they do their calendar for the week and Wed/Thurs gets the school magnet.
My eldest has been going since 11 months and is incredible with her reading and communication skills, writing her name, making friends, organising play dates.
My son has been going for 2 months now since 18m and he runs in! No tears anymore, he’s off like a shot to play with his friends and the toys. His words are going along amazing too and he enjoys time on his own, without us or his big sister.

My girl is now 4 months into daycare and loves it. The transition is hard I won't lie. But she's learned SO much and grown soo much.

Ohhh I was super sad and anxious of sending her to nursery. It’s been a month now and I love it . I miss her so much during the day at work and when I get to see her it’s just so much happiness from both of us.
I feel much more on it and energetic (parent wise ) when we have Days together. I make sure we do really nice activities those days.
I feel so much happier going back to work (only part time tho)

Our son started at 13m and we were able to take 5 weeks from going there with him for an hour to him staying alone including his nap for six hours and while there were days and weeks (he’s 3.5 now) where he didn’t like it as much, he overall loves going there and is very comfortable and oftentimes doesn’t even want to be picked up in the afternoon 😅 the quality of the nursery and how the staff are treating the children is super important but with a good nursery I think it can be great and developmentally beneficial!

Both of my daughters started at 4 months old and they have both come on leaps and bounds.
Just do your research and view a few nurseries ask for opinions from other people in the area on fb on what nurseries etc.
they learn so much and the break is also great for yourself and your child x

100% found it a relief to go back to work and have some child free time. I missed her too, and worried about her. But it gave me more balance.
I don’t know if I should go to the doctor or not. After feeding my daughter i waited for a while then I put her down to sleep. After a minute of lying down she was fussy and milk started coming out of her mouth and nose. I set her up immediately. I also noticed she was wheezing but now it seems to have cleared. She is back to feeding good. She is even sleeping now. Breathing looks normal. She is calmer, skin colour normal. It’s like she is her normal self again

My little boy is nearly 16 months old and he is getting really nasty he's pulling chunks out of people's hair, pinching and biting to the point your bleeding. I've tried everything I've smacked his hands told him no we don't hurt people moved him away from everyone when he's being nasty I've even bit his finger lightly nothing seems to be working. I honestly just need some guidance or some tips at this point I don't want him to be known as the nasty boy everyone avoids he has got his sweet loving moments but at this point there's not many

My nearly 4 month old has come out his bassinet due to weight limits and he’s now in his next to me in our bedroom again.
He used to sleep a dream in his bassinet, (6-7 hours) but I’m really struggling to get him to sleep longer stretches whilst in the next to me. I get 2 hours before he’s awake, and I can soothe him back to sleep just to get another couple of hours till he’s awake again. He has full feeds all day and is only formula fed.
We had this before with the next to me crib, so we moved him to his bassinet but there’s not much I can do now as he’s hit that weight limit.. I don’t know if he just doesn’t like the next to me crib🤣
Any advice or suggestions to try and get a longer stretch of sleep? I don’t think he’s going through the 4 month sleep regression as we’ve been away this weekend and he’s slept 7 hours every night in the bassinet, it only seems to be when he’s in the next to me x

Can I have a reality check? Is anyone’s baby laying down for the day sleeps? I’m nap trapped or baby-wearing mostly. At night it’s fine he’ll sleep on a separate surface no problem so I’m not complaining but I keep getting in my head “I’ll do X when the baby sleeps” but it’s just not happening!!
