Start/stop contractions

FTM here, this morning I woke up around 2:30am with contractions and thought I should start timing them as they felt really regular and getting stronger. Called the midwife line after an hour as they were like 3/4 minutes apart, got told to come in for observations and they monitored me for a couple of hours and was surprised how strong the contractions were and having 4 within a 10 minute timeframe. They did a cervical check and was only 1cm dilated, so got given some pain meds and sent home. Since then the contractions have mostly stopped, is this normal? Seems so strange cause they were so intense and frequent and I really thought it was happening lol

It’s normal, I had these type of contractions that start and randomly stop with my second pregnancy. It was exhausting 😓 I hope things move quicker for you xx

This happened with my first, about 3am until 4am, went back to sleep. Had a niggle at 11am, then nothing until about 3pm, waters broke at 4pm and he was here at 5pm 🙃

I hope you have some more movement tonight! Fingers crossed for you. Try to relax as much as you can and get comfy wherever you are x

Let's be so real... how's everyone finding maternity leave?

Someone asked me, "Are you enjoying your maternity leave?" As in going out, doing things, making the most of it.

Honestly? I haven't been out much at all. I've mostly been at home with my baby, and it definitely hasn't been easy. There have been hard days. My mum comes over and cooks for me sometimes, which I'm so grateful for.

But if you asked whether I'm enjoying maternity leave, I'd actually say yes. I'm genuinely enjoying the slower pace, being at home with my baby, and not feeling like I have to be out all the time. It's not glamorous, and it's not always easy, but these quiet days mean a lot to me.

How's everyone else enjoying their maternity leave? Are you out and about, or are you embracing the slow days at home too?

I’m 5 months PP

Bloody show

Had a sweep yesterday and think I might have passed my bloody show today . Am I meant to call triage or not? I did ask them yday and they didn’t seem very bothered about that but I also didn’t feel she gave a direct answer

Stretch and sweep

I had my first stretch and sweep in this pregnancy as I’m exactly 40 weeks today! I was told I’m 1-2cm dilated but my cervix is still a bit high/thickened.
I’m hoping as this is my second pregnancy the membrane sweep will work but did anyone else experience this and did they go into labour?

Mum guilt 😭

I was due to go for an ECV today, but the hospital called today to reschedule for Thursday due to lack of available consultants

I completely understand why the hospital has rescheduled, and am not at all annoyed with them

But, my new appointment means I won’t be able to pick up my little boy on his first day of nursery 😭 as if the mum guilt wasn’t already so bad with me being exhausted and a new baby coming!! 😭

Incomplete Scan

I’m 22 weeks pregnant and I’ve just got home from my second ‘20 week scan’. It will be marked as incomplete because, due to baby’s position, they couldn’t see the right side of the heart. All other checks were completely normal.

I won’t be offered another scan or be referred to foetal medicine. Has this happened to anyone else?

I really wanted some closure but I’m also pleased that everything they did see was fine.
