thinking about being a SAHM

it can be lonely you have to keep yourself up and moving and try to get out of the house as often as possible or u can fall into depression especially being postpartum

I love it. I hated working. And from the very beginning we knew that once we got married had kids I wouldn’t work and my husband would. It was never about my own money. We were always going to share. If you can afford being a SAHM then do it!

I love being a SAHM. I recommend it. 🙂

definitely see how you feel! i always thought i would want to be a stay at home mum, loved the idea and in reality for me it isn’t really a match! i wouldn’t say anything negative about it at all, i love my daughter and we have so much fun at home but i love my work too much and miss it, im currently just getting back into education to get my qualification to teach as opposed to TA and the time i spend socialising and learning is so important and enriching to me that i need that too. obviously my situation is different now that im a single parent too, so no support has a huge impact! but yeah, id say just see how you feel! you are in no sort of pressure to make this decision now! see how you feel when you get to experience it, and also remember it’s also okay to decide to do it and then change your mind ! xx

I do this because I can’t trust anyone! Everyone that offered to help me are all touchy freaks…. I couldn’t even trust them when I had to go to bathroom. I told them not to kiss her but they sneakingly kissed my baby and took pictures of them kissing her.
I couldn’t trust anyone anymore.
So I decided to raise them on my own. It’s hard but better than those people watching my kids.

Being a stay at home mom is the greatest job in the world. It can be really hard, too. As someone who struggles badly with depression and anxiety and had a period of time where trying to leave the house with my kids caused me a panic attack every single time, the best thing you can do is get out of the house as often as possible. Go to the grocery store, go to the mall, go for walks, go on play dates, make friends, join classes when your baby is old enough, go to story times at the library, go to museums and the zoo. Whatever you can do to not get stuck inside your house for days on end.

As for money, I've never had an issue with that, but I think that the only way it can work is if you stop splitting finances with your husband. One checking account. One savings account. One budget that you discuss and both follow. I technically have an "allowance" but so does my husband. We each have $200 a month that we can save up or spend on whatever we want.
