postpartum pain
i’m 1 month post partum tomorrow. when giving birth i had forceps and an episiotomy (2nd degree). After giving birth i moved to the postnatal ward, i asked for stool softeners constantly throughout the day and didn’t actually receive them until about 12 hours later, so this resulted in haemorrhoids just to add to the discomfort i already had. anyway i felt like the pain was getting better in all aspects but the last week i’ve started to feel a lot of discomfort again in both areas.
Is it normal to still be really sore a month on? my check up with doctors isn’t until october 1st.

Has the health visitor come out? Or maybe ring the health visitor they’ll advise on what to do! Hope this helps x
My midwives checked my stitches as they were infected which was causing them to be sore. I would get a gp appointment rather than waiting until you next see them. I’m one month on now too and also had an episiotomy, I needed antibiotics and I am no longer in any discomfort or pain.

Let's be so real... how's everyone finding maternity leave?
Someone asked me, "Are you enjoying your maternity leave?" As in going out, doing things, making the most of it.
Honestly? I haven't been out much at all. I've mostly been at home with my baby, and it definitely hasn't been easy. There have been hard days. My mum comes over and cooks for me sometimes, which I'm so grateful for.
But if you asked whether I'm enjoying maternity leave, I'd actually say yes. I'm genuinely enjoying the slower pace, being at home with my baby, and not feeling like I have to be out all the time. It's not glamorous, and it's not always easy, but these quiet days mean a lot to me.
How's everyone else enjoying their maternity leave? Are you out and about, or are you embracing the slow days at home too?

My waters broke at home at 36+3 days I had to stay in hospital until 37 weeks to be induced baby boy made his arrival after 18 hours of labour on the 25th Aug 2026 he was only due 14th September 🥹💙

Blood thinner injections...
Im a week PP and was prescribed 6 weeks of the blood thinners but I absolutely hate them!
At the end of my c-section the anaesthetist said i qualified for 10 days but the surgeon jumped in a said no my bmi is over 40 so it has to be 6 weeks. Thing is, my bmi only hit 40 at the end of the pregnancy so typically its below 40 and ive rapidly lost since the section too...
Would I be crazy to stop at 10 days and not do the full 6 weeks? Its such a big time difference and im really struggling with it 😫😫

Baby names
Hi guys im due a baby boy in january and my partner wants to name him Leo after his best friend, the boy middle name was already set to Duncan for a boy (his uncle who has passed) but im not certain on Leo, i like the name and think its sweet and works but im not certain about the reasoning of it being his best mates name, however I also dont have any other boy name ideas so might go with the Leo Duncan because I do like the name, thoughts?

36 weekstoday update
I have been going for poo like 3/4 times a day and its been runnyyy ahah, as well as this the pressure i feel down there is crazy everytime i go for a wee not a lot comes out but i can feel baby pressing on my bladder, im also hella tired sleeping 10/11 hours everyday and also ankles are so swollen they look terrible, also the discharge is getting a lot more.. anyone else have these symptoms at this stage :)
