Ok, based on another post I saw and now I'm curious.
If your teenager holds a job, at what age would you feel comfortable still calling their boss to complain about a scheduling policy that you disagree with? Or any policy that you disagree with?

I would have them communicate with their boss about any scheduling conflicts. If they’re old enough to hold a job they need to learn to effectively communicate themselves. If they’re too many scheduling conflicts then that’s not the right job for them

I wouldn’t ever feel comfortable calling my kids boss to interfere in their job.

I wouldn’t call my child’s boss. If they were just starting out and a younger teen, especially, I would for sure offer them support and coach them specifically as to what they could say to the manager themselves.

Omg are people really out there calling their kids boss for them?? 😂 how are these kids supposed to learn?!

Did she delete the post or did I get blocked 😂

I seen that!
I would be sooooo embarrassed if my mother or father ever did anything like that.
Kids old enough to get a job, kids old enough to deal.

I started work when I was 13 and being an anxious shy teenager, my mum called my boss when I couldn't work a certain day. But i started doing it myself probably round 15 when I started a different job

My parents made ME, the then kid, discuss it w/my boss. I was 16, FT HS student, ran track & CC & worked in a restaurant after school & on weekends. My parents seen my paycheck stub & realized that I had gotten OT & were PISSED. My schedule was so packed w/school & sports & I was rarely at home until they were in bed, that they didn’t notice my PT job had turned into a FT job. I was so embarrassed having to tell my boss that I wasn’t allowed to work so many hours, but it did me a lot of good bc that was the last time I was ever afraid to speak up for myself at work. At the time I thought it would make me look weak, the last thing a girl on the verge of adulthood wants to do, but instead it helped me advocate for myself. My own 16yo is a programmer & has a small 3D printing business, plus he helps on the farm. He loves his work bc it’s hobby based, so I don’t restrict him as long as it’s not negatively impacting him & he’s really good at making himself take nature breaks.

Bit of a role reversal: I was 14 at my first job. It was a shop assistant job. One day my period came and I was in pain and not at my optimum (leaning over the cashier’s desk etc). My manager called my mum to complain about me then sent me home for the day. I was furious and went back to quit.
Bottom line - it was my job, not my mum’s. My manager should have had the balls to talk to me as his employee. Don’t get involved.

Omg my mum did this to me once when I started my first job at 15, it was such a humiliating experience. The answer is never.

Thts embarrassing my stepdad did that to my sister. He confronted the manager in person 🤦♀️. Thankfully the manager took it easy.

lol I misclicked before reading the whole post here.
I started working at 14, I never once had my parents call my boss for me.
My mom and my long term boss of my job I had in high school were friendly enough with eachother, as human beings, (she’d come in for food even on days I wasn’t working & long after I quit and they were always friendly with eachother she still got discounts on food even after I left the job) but she never once ever took initiative to try to pick a scheduling dispute with him.

Omg never 😳 do people do this?

I meant to select never, if they’re old enough to work, they should understand how to have frustrating conversations without escalating confrontation.

Old enough to have a job old enough to talk to their own boss 🤷♀️

I'm so relieved by the way this poll is moving. I was honestly worried about our future generations for a minute!

Unless it was something EXTREMELY BAD like illegal and they needed an adult legally I would NEVER speak to my daughters boss. The only way for children to learn how to do it is to do it, so she will always be required to talk to them herself. I will help her as much as possible and help her figure out how to say something but I will never do it for her.
Baked beans with toast, grated cheese with a side of grapes and blackberries 💜
Definitely a bigger portion but the boy does love beans on toast!

Any tips/tricks on how to get my baby to like playing/eating more textured food & solids? She’s 9 months and doesn’t seem interested in it every time I give it to her 😭

I swear I’ve deep cleaned every room in this house like 3 times now thinking it will be the last time before baby arrives/to help induce labour and nothing! Now it’s a tip and needs doing AGAIN! 🤦🏻♀️😂

My 2.5 year old has suddenly started seeing monsters, everywhere, it started in the bedroom at night, still happens with a Nightlight and she still cosleeps so dont think its an attention thing to get us to stay with her as one of us already does. Then it started happening in the bedroom during the day, then the rest of the house, now out the window of the car when driving, and yesterday when we were in asda. She doesnt seem particularly distressed but it, with the exception of once when she walking into the kitchen and kind of yelpt in suprise then came and told me there was a monster in the kitchen. Im unsure what the correct action for me to take is, i know not to invalidate what she's "seeing", do i ask about the monsters, do i tell the monsters to go away? I dont really want her reliant on "monsters spray.

My BD had told me today I’m the worst thing to happen to him and he wishes he never met me I have ruined his life.
We have 2 children under 2 and this has cut me quite deep as I feel it is a really nasty and deep thing to say.
I’m always quick to defend him and his actions as I love him and long for that fairy tale family. But this is something that can’t be forgotten.
He hates me as I pulled him up on leaving the house at 3am to go out with his friends leavening me to deal with the kids myself.
I’m not allowed a voice and every time I voice an opinion I’m in the wrong.
And I over reacting how do I handle the situation.
It’s breaking me and dragging me down and making me feel useless and like an awful partner and awful mother.
