Twin mum advice

My twins are currently 11weeks (4 weeks corrected) and I’m really struggling at the moment. One twin is a lot smaller than the other so is constantly up in the night for feeds and it’s hard trying not to wake the other up so I’m very sleep deprived, especially since my husband has returned to work now. I also feel like I should be doing more with them during the day, but when it’s just me in the house or out with them I can’t feed two and entertain two at the same time without help. My parents and in laws are really helpful and will come and play with them while I shower or have an hour to myself but due to them still being small for their age and very refluxy none of them feel confident to have them for a few hours or feed without me or my husband there. I just feel like I’m drowning a bit at the moment and guilty that I should be doing more for the babies. Does anyone have any tips on how to routines they had or activities they did with their twins?

I’m right there with you! My twins are 12 weeks and one is also bigger than the other and sleeps better. One we put to bed between 7:30/8:30 and will sleep until after 5am the other will wake up a couple times to eat. It was so much worse before and it has gotten a lot better as they both keep getting bigger. My husband went back to work after 3 weeks and the sleep deprivation is no joke. It’s hard to keep them on the same schedule and wake up the other twin if the other twin is sleeping multiple hours more. To avoid the smaller one waking up the other we put them in different bassinets on either sides of the room and then have the sound machine positioned between the two. While they can definitely still hear each other I do think it has helped. My husband also takes a shift at night. I’ll do the first wake up and then he will do the second (whatever kid it is) and that did wonders for me mentally. One night we tried also sleeping in different rooms and had a kid each to take care..

of and we both got a lot more sleep that way too. I don’t like being separated so don’t do it often but when you are really needing better nights it’s an idea to try. You arent alone 🤍 I just keep trying different things and some gets us more sleep than others

For activities my girls love the Fischer price piano play mat. We do tummy time but they don’t enjoy it for long so we just put them on their backs and it entertains them for a good amount of time!

Staying awake at night

It’s incredibly difficult to stay awake while breastfeeding the baby at night. Sometimes I fall asleep with him on my chest and it’s so dangerous. I don’t know how to avoid it but I also have to keep him on my chest after feeds due to reflux.

2 YO sticking fingers in his butt

Ok, something I have never thought I’d have to post and ask. But idk what to do. I get exploration is normal at this age, (just turned 2 a month ago) and at first it was digging in his diaper. But then at bath he keeps sticking his fingers in his butt hole, and not just a little. I caught him the other day about to try to put a toy in there. I continue to tell him that is ouchy and can get sick or hurt as he obviously still sticks his hands in his mouth as well. I also tell him that he can play with his toes or belly button instead but he just ignores me. I’m worried he is going to hurt himself among other things.
Anyone else’s child did/does this? Will he just stop one day? Any solutions? I’m at a loss here 🫠

Feeling of guilt

So I will be starting work on the 9th of September after 3 and a half years, and I feel guilty of leaving my daughter in the daycare. And I am just overthinking everything, what if she cries a lot, what if she doesn’t eat a lot and etc.
Is this normal or am I just overreacting.

Floor Play

Do you really get down on the floor to play with your baby (not crawling yet) for more than 2 mins? It's so uncomfortable for me and also I don't know how to play with my young baby for more than 2mins at a time!?

Napping

I’m fully aware babies still need lots of contact naps at the moment, however when I try and transfer him he just wakes instantly and if my partner does, he continues to sleep! Anyone else experiencing this, it’s so frustrating
