Growth Scan accuracy?

I had a growth scan yesterday and he isn't 9lbs, but his stomach measurements are in the 96th percentile. I think his weight is off because the sonographer showed me how he literally has no room at all, his legs are up by his face and he's also very very low and they couldn't measure his head. With my first he was measuring heavier on his growth scan but had plenty of room

Forgot to add I am 38+5 weeks today and yesterday they estimated him at 8lbs

I'm pretty sure the official margin of error for growth scans is 15%. I've been having growth scans since around 20 weeks and most times they haven't been able to get the head measurement due to how he's been lying or how far down he is.

From what I know, the scans closer to the end are not very accurate. My first born they were saying he dropped to the 3rd percentile so pushed for induction, which ended in C-section and he was in the 27th percentile when he was born...

At 36 + 5 baby was measuring 9lbs, due another scan at 38+5 to decide if I'm still going for a vbac or opting for an elective.
My daughter was delivered at 39+5 weighing 10lb 5oz so it's quite possible that these measurements are accurate! 🫠

Interested in that too, cause I had a scan today and not only the baby measures 8.38lbs at 37w5d...but she's also turned breech in the last few days.

The breech itself is an indication for a c-section, but the weight itself expected to reach 10.6lbs by 40 weeks might mean c-section might be a reasonable choice... Had my heart set on vb so a bit surprised 🙈😂

I saw my consultant today and we discussed my baby's head being 97th centile (abdo and femur about 50+60th centile). He said the scans are more accurate for measuring small babies and the accuracy for "big" readings is only 6/10, so his advice was not to worry too much! And he said they get more inaccurate the later you are x
