So I'm about 2 months after birth. I have a 3 year old and my recent baby. I have my toddlers toys in baskets around the home and I usually tidy up twice a day once midday then end of day. My toddler tips out the toy basket and it keeps triggering my husband as he can't stand the mess. I have explained that it's normal for toddlers to do this. He wants to throw out all the toys and leave her with a few. I explained that I've spent money on these toys and I'd rather she had them. Any advice?

My advice is for your husband to get a grip and get over it! She's 3, let her have fun.
By all means start getting her to help tidying up after herself, get her to put away anything she isn't playing with right now. Make it fun, do it to music etc. But the reality is you have 2 young children and other than very brief periods (like when they are asleep š
) your house is going to be messy and covered in toys!
Embrace the chaos, they grow up so fast!

If you're husband wants limited mess with only a couple of toys out at a time I would suggest that HE looks into montessori at home and then HE can take charge of setting up appropriate toy shelves and organising toys by interest, then HE can pay close attention to your toddlers current interest and HE can rotate the toys on a weekly basis. Or he can just learn to deal with the mess. Those are pretty much his only options.

This really pisses me off. If he's getting triggered he can also clean tf up and help you. I am sure his excuse is he's at work all day š looks like they all do this because I've heard so many and I also went through it. I told mine to buy a bigger house š š and also clean up or shut it ty. Reality is it's a lived in house and till they are all off to school full time the house will look the part. And for those houses that look like magazine houses yet they have kids .. I feel bad for those kids as it means they can't express themselves. Unless ofcourse there's massive space and a dedicated play room and a daily cleaner šš However I decided not to do a playroom because it isolates the kids imo.

My husband is very similar. Heās in the army and heās so used to everything being spotless and exactly where it should be. When heās home heās constantly cleaning up whatever the kids are doing even though I tell him itās literally pointless and better to let them play and then when their in bed spend 20 minutes resetting everything instead of spending the whole day repeating the same tidying. In the nicest way possible I just ignore him now. If he wants to waste his time tidying then go at it as long as heās not bothering me or the kids x

Throwing out the toys cuz heās triggered can cause emotional distress to your child. He needs to learn to manage his triggers and learn emotional regulation like every other adult, cuz toddler messes aināt worth getting triggered about.
I have nowhere to go I'm financially dependent on him. I moved from a different country and got married to this a*****. He is so effing lazy. Comes from work and goes to the bed straight for the nap. Wakes up makes me serve his dinner, won't even make his plate. Eats. Plays some game and then goes back to bed. Snores loudly the whole night waking up the baby since we only live in a one bedroom apartment. When I tell him he disturbs the baby, he says that he snores because he is tired and can't control it. On the weekends. He comes home between his break for lunch. On the weekends he only plays games since it's his rest day and I have to serve him fresh lunch and dinner. Now he is saying that we should plan the next baby. I so fucking tired. I can't even work because I have to take care of the baby.

My baby is a week away from 6 months and is only showing the sign of bringing toys to his mouth as being food ready. when weāre eating he has no interest at all, and iāve tried a little spoon of a few purees and he just pushes them out of his mouth. I feel like iām going crazy as so many relatives are telling me heās ready, and heās up through the night every 2 hours for a 7oz bottle but heās just not ready yet? Anyone else in a similar boat?

I swear Iām genuinely at the point of crying š Iām doing everything I can as a low-income single mom and every time I feel like Iām finally getting my shit together, something else happens.
I finally leave my ex, he chooses his family over me and my son, three months ago he takes back the stroller and car seat because āhe bought them.ā Meanwhile he hasnāt contributed anything else. His mom literally called CPS 16 hours after I gave birth, they dealt with me for two months and then basically told me I was doing amazing, so Iām just like⦠cool well the stroller I just bought the straps broke. Walmart. Doesnāt want to refund me or let me buy a new one. Awesome.
Then this morning I get told my maternity benefits, child benefits AND income support are all being put on hold for three months unless I somehow produce 47,000 pieces of paperwork. Iām already scared to buy groceries because I donāt even know what money I actually have.
Maybe Iām just Iām cursed because today I sliced my finger, sprained my ankle, slammed my hand in the freezer, hit my head on a cupboard, stubbed my toe AND face-planted. Like??? š Iām not even a super spiritual person but Iām starting to think I need an exorcism.
So Iām like wtf okayletās go to the library and get out of the house. We get there and I have to wait for THREE different groups of people to use the elevator with my baby and stroller because apparently walking 20 feet is impossible (they were all teenagers, laughing around goofing with their friends like the douchebag wannabe hoodlum type but you can tell not from the hood but wannabe I donāt know why kids are weird lol then it was too older ladies who were like you can wait for the next one the elevator fits five people and a stroller like itās a big elevator. I was like oh goddamn, whatever )Then my bus/train tickets almost donāt work and my card isnāt working online.
This isnāt even half of whatās been happening just the tip of the iceberg
At this point I donāt need a miracle. I just need ONE NORMAL freaking week how about you šš

Iām a first time mum and Iām meant to be going away for a couple of nights in October thatās 4 hrs away and my baby who will be 5 months then is planned to go stay at her Grannyās (MIL) , this will be her first time away from me and her dad and Iām really beginning to get bad anxiety from it all.
MIL has only seen her twice , once when she was born and the second when we drove through for a hour, we live over an hour away from them so hence the not constantly seeing eachother and Iām not going to constantly pack up and travel over there all the time.
Iām really really nervous as the time is approaching, we had booked this pre pregnancy and i genuinely thought Iād be okay but Iām really starting to panic. I donāt want to say anything to them incase they take it the wrong way like they think I donāt trust th or that they arenāt capable as she has had two boys. I feel so nervous im considering not going and just staying at home whilst my partner takes a friend and goes, but another part of me believes I should go as my life shouldnāt just stop because Iāve had a child and I deserve to have fun too but I also just donāt know anymore, I love my girl but I also want a break but I also donāt want her to go somewhere else. My mum died years ago and my dadās too old to do it himself. We have no friends nearby who would help out either so this is really our only option.
Any advice on how to cope with this and if anyone has been in the same boat and just bitten the bullet and gone for it? xx
