I’m a first time mum and I’m meant to be going away for a couple of nights in October that’s 4 hrs away and my baby who will be 5 months then is planned to go stay at her Granny’s (MIL) , this will be her first time away from me and her dad and I’m really beginning to get bad anxiety from it all.
MIL has only seen her twice , once when she was born and the second when we drove through for a hour, we live over an hour away from them so hence the not constantly seeing eachother and I’m not going to constantly pack up and travel over there all the time.
I’m really really nervous as the time is approaching, we had booked this pre pregnancy and i genuinely thought I’d be okay but I’m really starting to panic. I don’t want to say anything to them incase they take it the wrong way like they think I don’t trust th or that they aren’t capable as she has had two boys. I feel so nervous im considering not going and just staying at home whilst my partner takes a friend and goes, but another part of me believes I should go as my life shouldn’t just stop because I’ve had a child and I deserve to have fun too but I also just don’t know anymore, I love my girl but I also want a break but I also don’t want her to go somewhere else. My mum died years ago and my dad’s too old to do it himself. We have no friends nearby who would help out either so this is really our only option.
Any advice on how to cope with this and if anyone has been in the same boat and just bitten the bullet and gone for it? xx

Can you take your baby with you?

If it was me I would either take the baby depending on how far away the trip is, or between now and October try and see your MIL every week or two and if possible leave baby with her for a few hours in the day?

Maybe speak to your MIL about it - I’m sure she’ll understand the anxiety. Maybe she could come stay a night before you go away?
Could anyone suggest any other breakfasts I could offer my 15 month old please? We alternate between Weetabix or toast. Sometimes if there is more time I’ll make banana pancakes. He doesn’t have many teeth so limited to things that are easily chewable but I’m not sure if there are any other suitable cereals he could try

Guys I’m so annoyed with my husband. I’ve noticed I’ve since the baby turned eight months. It seems like he’s just been less helpful. He’s been playing this game on his phone and I normally don’t care but when the baby is crying because they obviously are hungry/ want to sleep etc. and he’s just playing the game and I’m stuck in work(working from home) it’s so annoying like why do I have to do every single thing while I’m trying to work?
I’m stopping to feed the baby changed diapers while you’re on your phone gaming
I’ve talked to him about the game already saying that I think you’re kind of being distracted and you’re not you know, helping as much when it comes to the child so he stepped up and started washing bottles helping out a little more now. But he had to give me so much talk about all he just wants to relax. And this is his only time to relax and he doesn’t interrupt me when I am playing games. I haven’t played a game in months because we have this child and I’m just tired all this time I went straight from a C-section to working full-time within a week and beyond tired.
He helps out with a lot of other things, but oh my gosh I just want help while I’m working. We literally only have two more days till baby goes to school. Why? Why can’t you get off this game?

My partner goes to work then will go straight out wether it's out with friends to the gym or to do what ever he wants come home mostly after bed time ,which can't be helped if he's working but on days we're he may finish at 3pm I'd love for him to just come home and help me with our 2 under 2
He will just go out and do what ever he wants , I get that he needs his free time but what about my times from the kids
I just he's begining to piss me off and out of 5 days he may come home straight after work twice but then will focus on cooking dinner he's a chef and loves cooking but when he's home he needs to take over or share the load
He's a great dad on the days he's off but we had this chat many times it's going in one ear and out the other .

I went out to eat with my friends last night and I’ve got one friend that sends food back every time. I’m not exaggerating, she complains to wait staff and management every time. Sometimes we gotta talk to her in the car about ordering what she’s accustomed too and not sending things back. One of my other friends told her, you gotta stop this shit! 🤣
