This morning my husband got out of bed and I was more asleep still than usual. Our little one has become more mobile and somehow managed to roll off of the bed between the bed and nightstand. It’s about 2ft and we have carpet. He’s about 6 months old, rolling, now somewhat crawling.
I heard it immediately got him and he barely cried. As soon as I picked him up he was smiling and giggling. He has been eating, looking at us, grabbing and kicking all like normal.
I don’t see any bumps or bruises and he seems generally okay and unbothered by the entire incident.
My husband is very upset that we let him fall. He isn’t directly blaming me but I know I’m the one who failed our son. The guilt is overwhelming and I feel sick to my stomach. He keeps saying things like “now anytime something is wrong we’re going to think it it’s because when he fell” which makes me more upset 😭
I’m going to call his pediatrician but has this happened to other moms? Please don’t join this to just make me feel worse, I’m already very down on myself about it.

My son has fallen off the bed and is completely okay. It’s not a far drop either and I kept my eye on him to make sure he was acting normal. Don’t worry he’s okay and you and your husband are still good parents. Now that this happened it’s ok to let yourself have these feelings but instead of beating yourself up over it for a long time put that energy into safety precautions so it doesn’t happen again.

Girl my daughter fell out of the bed at 4months. I hadn’t slept all night I was sleep for about 20mins at 8am & I popped up immediately. I felt so so so bad after. She cried for a little bit but once we picked her up she was just fine & all smiley too! You’re not a bad mom at all it’s okay girl it happens 🫶🏽

Sorry but I don’t believe you’re to blame here. He should have woken you up more and ensured you had eyes on the baby or he should have taken the baby with him.

We rang doctors when this happened and they pretty much laughed and said baby’s are made for falls they are bouncy and resilient. Monitor but if nothing is different I wouldn’t be concerned

My kids have never fell off the bed but my son was dropped on his head at about 2-3m and he was absolutely fine, don’t stress these things happen x

My son fell off the bed at 11 months and I posted exactly the same thing on here. It's more common than you would think.. I felt horrible too and he didn't hurt himself thankfully. I've tried to always put him in his cot since then but not always successful specially when he's unwell. Don't stress too much, just keep an eye for 48 h or so xx

My son fell off the bed hit the office chair (his gaming chair) in our room before hitting a pile of clothes on the floor. He was barely a week old. My husband turned around to get a diaper and I was pumping...he just rolled off the bed. He cried but was fine. He has fallen off the bed many time after that...I was half asleep and making his formula during the night and he kicked himself off the bed into the floor again onto a pile of clothes. 2 times I left him on the bed to sleep he accidentally rolled off (he moves around when he sleeps). And just most recently he was playing with his Mimi and dropped off and got a big goose egg. We went to get it checked out and he was fine. It has since gone down in swelling and his bruises are gone!! Your baby will be fine. Yall give yourself a break. Accidents happen. Try not to let it happen often but your little guy is not gonna have developmental issues from a little fall off the bed, especially when he didn't cry or have any bruises. Y'all will be fine.

You didn't fail. This is just a right of parenthood- almost every kid falls off of something eventually. As long as baby is acting appropriately, there's usually nothing to worry about. Give the pediatrician a call, but they're going to tell you that it happens to most parents eventually and to watch and make sure that baby is acting appropriately. Babies are incredibly durable- it takes quite a bit to actually harm them. Wait until toddlerhood when they run head first into everything 😅

I feel like you are massively overthinking this. Neither of you failed your child, it was an accident and these things happen. You can still bedshare, just make sure if one of you gets up, the other one knows. Your baby will have many more bumps and falls as they get older, they tend to bounce back up pretty well! Stop being so hard on yourself! ☺️
So I'm about 2 months after birth. I have a 3 year old and my recent baby. I have my toddlers toys in baskets around the home and I usually tidy up twice a day once midday then end of day. My toddler tips out the toy basket and it keeps triggering my husband as he can't stand the mess. I have explained that it's normal for toddlers to do this. He wants to throw out all the toys and leave her with a few. I explained that I've spent money on these toys and I'd rather she had them. Any advice?

Does anyone have any ideas of things to do with my almost 3 year old whilst also 8 months pregnant? I’m finding it really difficult to keep up with his energy and am running out of ideas to keep him happy and entertained that don’t require me to run around after him 24/7 but I feel really guilty about him being bored etc and I don’t want to just shove him in front of a Tv all day! We do arts and crafts, play with his toys all day, go out for a coffee and a cake etc but I’m worried he’s getting bored, and when he gets bored the whole world knows! He’s a very active little boy but also very needy (ie if we go to soft play with grandparents he only wants me to play with him) so any ideas would be really helpful!

I would love some advice as I really don’t know what to do. My husband’s family are all over from Prague, HK, Indonesia and we have a lunch booked with them tomorrow. My husband has said they now want to do dinner tonight. We have a 10 month old and a 4 year old. My 10 month old is at nursery today and doesn’t nap well and my 4 year old just started school yesterday. He wants us to pick them up and then go for dinner at 6pm (so unlikely we’ll get back before 8:30), and we will need to take the tube to get there. I know that both of my daughters will be grouchy and just wanting me the whole time so it will be utterly exhausting, and we will be pushing our 10 month old to her limit (she doesn’t nap on the go very well at all). My husband also then wants to stay out with his brother to watch a football game (although he said he wouldn’t do this if it was too much). It is incredibly rare that the whole family get together and this might be the last time as the mum is suffering from poor health. My gut is saying to look after my daughters and maybe opt out so that my husband goes and then they see us tomorrow. But I’m also conscious that they’ll all be really disappointed not to see us. Any thoughts?!

My baby is a week away from 6 months and is only showing the sign of bringing toys to his mouth as being food ready. when we’re eating he has no interest at all, and i’ve tried a little spoon of a few purees and he just pushes them out of his mouth. I feel like i’m going crazy as so many relatives are telling me he’s ready, and he’s up through the night every 2 hours for a 7oz bottle but he’s just not ready yet? Anyone else in a similar boat?

Hey,
My baby is 7 months, she doesn’t like pureès, and I’m really unsure what to offer her ?
She is ready for food, as I spoke to my doctors, my health visitor, and she’s showing all signs, she will eat snacky things like wafers, and puffs, we’ve given weetabix a go which she was happy with, but I’m just unsure what to offer to a bit of a picky eater🙈
Any tips or advice will be appreciated😊xx
