I can honestly say I’ve never done this because when they’re young they wouldn’t really understand the bribe anyways and with my 5 & 7 year old they go to sleep at the same time consistently so they’re tired by that time and there’s not really a need to bribe but they also have about 20 minutes of reading time after brushing teeth and getting in bed so if it’s a rare day when they aren’t tired I just let them read until they fall asleep

Ive never bribed her to go to sleep although ill let her take whatever she want to bed with her. She went to sleep in her dressing gown the other night.
I do however bribe her with a lot of other things 😅🤦♀️

I told my youngest once she moved into the room the girls share that if she didn’t quit being loud at night I was going to make her sleep on the porch. She loved the idea 😂

Not with taking things away but she’s allowed to take whatever she wants to bed and I’ll say that when she wakes up we can do painting or something. We’ll do the painting regardless but it just helps her cos she has fomo and she likes to think that me and her dad are also going to sleep then we can all wake up and do something together

Hmmm I don’t think so? They’ve always been pretty set in their routines. I remember sometimes for their naps when they were toddlers I would tell them they had to take a good nap so we could enjoy whatever activity we had planned for after. Not sure if that counts lol.

No. I use logical consequences like "if we don't move on with our evening, we won't have time to read our story before sleeping" also offer options for our routine to work. "Do you want to go shower by yourself or do you need help to reach the bathroom?
It works and makes our nights very nice with our almost 3 years old

I never bribed. I do give them an hour warning that we call “dailies” so if they have anything they want to finish up before bed they can.

No never, it’s bed time, end of. It’s not something to be bargained over.

Nope. I struggled with bedtime as a kid when my parents put pressure on me falling asleep. So I try really hard to not add pressure into sleep.
We talk about the day we had that’s coming to an end in detail, and what our plans for tomorrow are going to be and how it cannot be tomorrow without us going to sleep tonight.

For school days we have a timer, I utilise my phone timers for a lot of things lol but sometimes he calls me before the timer and says I’m tired mummy let’s go sleep. Even as a baby he was a high sleep needs baby. It’s only weekends and holidays when we’re out at someone’s house or somewhere w people I’ll be flexible w their bedtime. Like a couple weeks ago we met some friends at the Firelight festival I think we got home at 11.
Are you putting moisturiser on your babies/ toddlers? I never did as neither my oldest or youngest has particularly dry skin. If so do you have any recommendations?

My daughter is 4. I’m a SAHM. My daughter has been saying hurtful things when she is mad and it’s only directed towards me. She never says mean things to her dad or to her little brother. She will say things like “daddy is my favorite he always plays with me”. “Daddy is the boss you are an old lady”. “Daddy is the best you are not”. Like where is she getting this from? Is this normal? I try to tell her not to say mean things but she will just continue to repeat whatever hurtful thing she said before. It’s been like this for a month now and I need some help here any advice?

Had our health visiting 9m-1y, and was quite surprised with some things that I got told to change, but mainly was surprised at the fact that my health visitor told us that we had to feed her bedtime bottle 30mins before brushing her teeth as the milk softens the enamel, did anyone know this? Because of that she suggested that I change her bedtime routine so that my daughter doesn’t associate the milk with sleep and makes it easier for us to give her the milk earlier. What do you guys think? If you want I can add in the comments other things that surprised me.
