Back to work

I know this is really judgemental,. But I love working, I really want to go back but at the same time, I cannot even fathom leaving my baby.
The thing that I am judgemental on, is that I do not want to me one of them mums who just live on benefits for the rest of their lives, live in a council place and solely rely on council to help me out, have many children with different daddies because I have already left my baby daddy, I have already had so many emails asking when I am returning and I just don't know what to do. I break down into tears everytime I think about it because I know how judgemental I am being with it. I know that some mothers cannot help that and really do need it, but i also know mums who use benefits as a way to do fuck all. I don't even know what to say anymore...
I guess thanks for hearing me rant 😭😅

You’ve paid into the system by working so accessing the benefit system to enable you to care for your child in their formative years to me is perfectly acceptable and should not be judged.

Like you the thought of going back to work makes me sick actually.
I am taking it as a 6 month trial on a part time basis to see how it feels/works and go from there. Is that an option for you?

From an American, if i could, I would. Be with your baby as long as you can. Like Dianne said youve paid into the system so one day the system could work for you

I’m planning on being a SAHM for a few years and I will have to use UC to be able to do that, I’ve been working since I was 15 and have paid my tax’s ect so in my eyes I’m entitled to do that considering other people never go to work and live off the benefit system forever, I’m not planning on this being a permanent thing as I’m studying to become an occupational therapist so when I do go back I’ll also be in a job that means more and helps more people than me going back to work into my hospitality job and will secure a good future for my daughter and future children

Claiming benefits doesnt automatically mean you leave your partner and have 4 different baby daddies. If you qualify, do it. I've paid in to the pot but dont qualify. I think anyone who has the opportunity to stay at home and wants to, should.

Any possibility you’re able to go back on a part time basis?

🗓️ Looking for a genuine friendship 🤍

Looking for a genuine friendship 🤍
Hi! I’m a stay-at-home mom living in Oshkosh, and I’m hoping to meet some new people and build a genuine, lasting friendship.
This is my second year living in Oshkosh and my third year in Wisconsin. I’m originally from the South, so moving here has been a bigger adjustment socially than I expected. I’ve tried some local resources and mom groups, but I’ve found it difficult to really break through the more reserved culture here and form meaningful connections. I’d love to find someone who is also looking for an actual friendship—not just someone to occasionally say hi to online.
I have two daughters, ages 6 and 5, a 14-month-old son, and I recently found out I’m pregnant again. I also occasionally have my stepdaughter with us three weekends a month. Life is definitely busy, but I genuinely love being present and available for my kids. I’m currently a stay-at-home mom, although I’ve considered working partly because I miss having regular adult interaction and opportunities to socialize.
One of the hardest parts for me is the winter. Once the snow arrives and outdoor activities and mom groups become less frequent, staying home can feel incredibly isolating. I’d really love to find a friend who enjoys getting together for coffee, taking the kids somewhere, going for walks when the weather cooperates, having a girls’ night, or even just hanging out at home and talking about life.
I’m not looking for a huge social circle. I’d much rather have a small number of genuine, reliable friendships where we can actually be there for each other.
If you’re also looking for a genuine friendship, feel free to comment or message me. I’m definitely willing to meet up and see if we click. I’d love to find someone who wants to build a real friendship and have someone to do life with. 🤍

Lonely

So I'm posting this incognito because honestly I feel like a right loser.
I used to have friends I always had someone to talk to, to go out with, to have a text to reply to. I literally would do anything I could to help anyone. Then I moved to be with my husband and lost afew of them but made some more at work. Then we moved and had our children and one by one lost everyone I tried to meet up with people but when people forget about you, forget they made plans with you and don't turn up, are too tired to meet up, say they will see you and never arrange it, it all gets a bit too much and I stopped trying with them because at the end of the day it was me upset not them.
Now I don't work so can't make friends that way, I stay at home with my children, I have them, my husband and my mum to talk to.
School has been open 3 days now and everyday I see people talking, me I stand there by myself, I say hello how are you they answer but walk past. Yesterday I stood waiting and may as well have been invisible people just joined the queue in front of me.
I've met people on here one I thought was going to be a great friend but she turned nasty others just haven't progressed to anything. Honestly I don't know what's wrong with me I don't know why I'm the one stood alone. What's wrong with me. I think I just needed to put that all into words and I also hope it helps someone. If you see someone by themselves at the school gates smile, say hello, include them in your conversation because we don't know what others are going through or how they are feeling.

Thoughts

I think I’m more than happy with my one daughter.

But every now and then I entertain the thought of another child because I miss pregnancy/newborn stage but then remember how difficult toddlers are. How comfortable we are and less money means less freedom. I worry I’ll regret not having anymore! It’s so hard.
