Baby’s 1st shots

My mother-in-law wants to come over the day my baby has her first shots since leaving the hospital, and I don’t want her to come over, but her dad says she could help, but I don’t think she could help. Am I wrong? I feel like having her there would only stress me out more because I’m nervous about the shots to begin with. Don’t get me wrong, I love my mother-in-law, but I don’t want someone trying to hold my baby when she’s upset.

Be honest and firm, you’ll contact her if you need the help and you really appreciate the offer

That’s up to you. I loved having people come to help and you can set boundaries that say if you come you need to help. And if baby cries give her back to me. Or just say no.

Tbh I find the injections so stressful id have comfort someone being there for support ive had 4 kids and everyone reacted different so i thinks it lovely shes wanting to help ' do whatever ur comfortable with im sure she Will understand if you express how u feel x

It is your decision as to what help should look like. It does not have to be holding the child. Maybe there are dishes or laundry to be done. Maybe there’s a bathroom to be cleaned. Or a meal to be cooked. Or maybe it would be most helpful to have some peace and quiet

Personally if someone hasn’t come to visit since the baby has been born and at 8 weeks you’d like to “come help” I would pass. It can be stressful which means you could possibly be more emotional so I wouldn’t risk potentially becoming annoyed with my mother in law for tedious things, just rescheduled on a more positive day. Just my 2 cents x

It depends what she can “help” with. My MIL comes over and actually cleans my house. Is she gonna come over and hold the baby while you clean or is she gonna let you comfort the baby and clean up the house? If she’s just coming to see the baby and you don’t want her to I would say no

5 month old never sleeps but tonight does?

For the last few weeks he’s been having a hard time getting to sleep at night. He’ll wake up every 15-30 minutes screaming if he does go to sleep. Tonight I gave him one of his toys and bam! Straight to sleep. Is that normal? Should I be doing that more often?

Now ik this isn’t a baby question but I really want some sort of bush trimmer (idk how else to word that sorry) I hate shaving because of the itch but it’s just uncomfy if it gets too long. I was looking at the Gillette one but apparently it only works as long as the first charge and then never again. Recommendations please ladies tysm

Breast milk collector

Hiya, has anyone used a breast milk collector to collect leaking milk at night? I didn't realise my breast milk was even leaking until I forgot to wear breast pads. The milk had leaked through to my bedsheets.... I'm wondering if a breast milk collector would be good to capture this?

Wipes or cotton wool and water straight from birth

What’s the consensus?

My baby is fighting to sleep. My baby is 5 weeks old she wants to be soothed to sleep in my arms with a dummy, once I put her down she’s wide awake. Or she’ll want a dummy in her mouth in her crib but will keep dropping it out and get

Agitated or overly tired but still not sleep once I put it back in and rub her head. I don’t know what to do at 6am after a feed we’re up for hours and she’s still not sleeping. I’m getting exhausted. Has this happened to anyone?
