My son just started year 1. When I picked him up on friday ( second day of school) he was very upset. Said this boy said he doesn’t like my son because he has a bad haircut.
My son was realllyyy upset. The day before I had spoken to the boys mum during pick up and she seemed nice.
The thing is, they just mixed the classes for year one and the other boy wasn’t in his class before. But when we went to the summer fair just before the school closed ( the school hosted it) the boy was there and my son said how he was being mean to my son and his friend in the playground.
What should I do ? Should I dismiss it for now, or speak to the teacher?
What should I say to the teacher?
I don’t want to seem like I am complaining the first week of school, but I don’t want my son to come home upset either.

I would speak to the teacher and she can watch for this behaviour and address it as he/she won't tolerate this but may also be completely unaware (I work in a school).
Bullying, especially in yr 1 is just so sad. I would advise your child to seek support from staff too when it happens so he doesn't have to sit on that all day while he waits for your comfort

I’d personally say ignore it for now and see if anything else is said. It could just be a one off. I’d also try keep reiterating to your son that other peoples opinions don’t matter and as long as he likes his hair then it shouldn’t matter

It depends. I would ignore it unless it continued or if it made my child not want to go to school. A girl told my daughter she was ugly during transition day. I normally tell my daughter to play with her own friends and focus on them.

I would let a one time mean comment go. Tell your son that if he likes his hair, that’s all that matters

I would teach him to speak for himself - I watch that lady who supports kids who are bullied and she explained that the importance of advocating for oneself by using role play. Ask him what he would like to say to the boy- explore with him different options- maybe ask him if there is some friends he can stay with so he can get away from the boy. It is good that he told you what happened he just want help to navigate the situation

Bring it to the teacher/admins attention and tell them you aren't trying to make a big deal about it but also want it to be on their radar so it doesnt escalate into something bigger. And that you will follow up with them about it in the future...Being proactive can help eveyone out. Teachers dont always see these dynamics until they escalate.
My mother in law has never really liked me. She called me a money grabbing slapper because her son earns good money and thinks I’m only with him and kept my child with him because of he’s money. Am I crazy for telling my partner to not have no contact with her for disrespecting me!

So I have recently seen a lot of influencers saying they aren’t posting there children faces anymore due to AI and people using them for the worst things you could think of possible
I post my child on fb and instagram (only family and school friends all account are private
I have also just started TikTok literally only have 50 followers I now feel so so guilty I just feel so proud of him and just want to show our day to day life
I don’t know what to do now
My mum also has him a lot and does ‘grandma day care’ post on fb and only has her friends and family on there too
I don’t know what to do & I feel as though I should be able to post what I want but also don’t want him in any danger

My mil isnt close to my daughter, rarley see her (her doing)
Which means she just doesnt get my daughters personality at all.
Social wise my daughter takes after me, shes not a people person, shes pretty shy and hates people in her face or trying to make her laugh when she's clearly not in the mood.
When we see her she will still get in my daughters face trying to make her laugh, grabbing at her legs or arms (in a fun way- in her eyes)
My daughter doesnt like it and gets upset/angry.
This happens every time!!!! Like wtf
I want them to have a relationship but its like my mil cant be botherd actually making one instead she has to act the clown!

My baby just turned 8 months and everything is still such a struggle.
I just totally didn't realise how hard having a baby is. Every new phase is hard and I'm constantly second guessing myself, wondering if I'm failing or doing the best that I can for my little boy. Every day feels like a fight and I'm exhausted.
I feel so bad that I wish away his baby months, and I can't wait until he's a proper little fun person toddling around and communicating with me.
I'm sad that this is not how I thought maternity leave would be. I thought it would be happier and full of love. Whereas it's exhausting, and full of anxiety.
Just sharing, in case others feel the same way. I know we'll get through this, but it's just bloody hard in the meantime...

When you bring it to his attention.. he says he's a guest in my home basically. But as soon as he comes over his first stop is literally the kitchen. Because he has no food at his house.. I'm starving to think he literally just wants to come over to eat and snack. When we first started talking.. I used to make him breakfast but once I realized he didn't deserve that i stopped. He drinks up damn near all the sodas and water in the fridge. Eats up all my kids snacks.. I came in the kitchen this morning with one pop tart left, after there was a total of 4 in there. 4 packs of crackers left but 8 total came in the lil box all together.. lastnight he was literally back and fourth in the kitchen.. had about 2 or 3 sodas and atleast 2 bags of chips. Ate a pack of ramen noodles.. which he goes after almost everytime he comes over.. I just put groceries in my house last week. He will come over mainly on weekends because he works.. but never seem to have any money to take care of himself. Am i wrong for getting fed up with this ??
