The End

Hi Moms,

Remember my post about joining the Navy and potentially leaving my son with my husband while I’m away? The arrangement was contingent on me sending him all of the housing allowance, plus additional financial support.

There is a history of DV, and so many of you warned me that putting myself in that position could be extremely risky. You told me not to do it.

Well… update.

While I was helping my husband rebuild his resume and update his professional profiles, including LinkedIn, I discovered that he had been talking to another woman.

He denied it until I showed him what I found. Then he became quiet. No remorse. Nothing.

I didn’t want him anywhere near me after that, so I made him sleep on the floor.

Over Labor Day weekend, he spent the night somewhere else.

Then, to my absolute shock, I found out that he had sent naked pictures of me to friends, even his own brother.

He also took our only car without telling me where he was going and took all of the bank cards with him.

At this point, part of me just wants to go straight to the police and then to a DV shelter.

I’m nauseous. I keep feeling like I want to shower over and over again.

And in the middle of all of this, my son keeps asking me, “Where is Daddy?”

That is the part that breaks me.

I keep thinking about packing a bag, taking my child and leaving the moment I have the opportunity.

Then another part of me thinks about the trauma and instability this could create for my little boy. Maybe I should find a job, quietly become financially independent, prepare everything properly and then get us out.

I don’t know anymore.

My husband is 18 years older than me. I’m an expat here with no family support system, yet somehow I am expected to provide for him AND our son while trying to rebuild my own life.

I AM TIRED.

Tired of princess men.

Tired of liars.

Tired of being in survival mode.

And guess who looks like the bad person through the eyes of my son?

Me.

Because he is too little to understand what his father is doing, and I will not put that burden on his little soul or tell him adult things he should never have to carry.

As I’m writing this, it’s 2 pm the next day and he still isn’t home.

I genuinely don’t know whether I should pack our things and leave now, or stay long enough to secure a job and financially prepare my exit.

I could really use advice from moms who have been through something similar, especially those who had to leave without family nearby.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I would personally leave the second I have a chance. It will be hard at first, but it’ll also be so worth it especially for your mental health and for your child’s well being

Reach out to a divorce attorney asap.

I haven't been in your shoes, but my mom was in a similar spot when I was a baby. My father was 16 years older than she was. She had me when she was 23, just a young woman, unmarried, financially not on her feet, when he started distancing himself and stepping out on her. When she strapped me to her back and moved out of his big house to go to nursing school and live in a little rent controlled apartment, I wasn't even a year old. I admire her and think she was the strongest, most amazing and selfless mom in the world for doing that. I thank God that I didn't grow up living with that man.

Leave now before he returns. If hes already been violent and you've confronted him he might go "too far" on returning.

Nesting!

I’m 27 weeks and feel like I started nesting weeks ago. I look at random things in my house every day and think “ugh I need to clean that/organise that asap because baby is coming soon”.
I guess I’m wondering when nesting starts for most people and if anyone has any practical tips for tidying up the house before baby arrives?
I’m really struggling to keep on top of housework between work and regular mum & wife tasks. I feel like every time I clean or organise something, my husband or toddler undoes it or makes a new mess for me to tidy!😅

I’m in two minds…..

So I have recently seen a lot of influencers saying they aren’t posting there children faces anymore due to AI and people using them for the worst things you could think of possible

I post my child on fb and instagram (only family and school friends all account are private

I have also just started TikTok literally only have 50 followers I now feel so so guilty I just feel so proud of him and just want to show our day to day life

I don’t know what to do now

My mum also has him a lot and does ‘grandma day care’ post on fb and only has her friends and family on there too

I don’t know what to do & I feel as though I should be able to post what I want but also don’t want him in any danger

Mil doesnt get my 5 year old

My mil isnt close to my daughter, rarley see her (her doing)
Which means she just doesnt get my daughters personality at all.
Social wise my daughter takes after me, shes not a people person, shes pretty shy and hates people in her face or trying to make her laugh when she's clearly not in the mood.
When we see her she will still get in my daughters face trying to make her laugh, grabbing at her legs or arms (in a fun way- in her eyes)
My daughter doesnt like it and gets upset/angry.
This happens every time!!!! Like wtf
I want them to have a relationship but its like my mil cant be botherd actually making one instead she has to act the clown!

Crazy or not

My mother in law has never really liked me. She called me a money grabbing slapper because her son earns good money and thinks I’m only with him and kept my child with him because of he’s money. Am I crazy for telling my partner to not have no contact with her for disrespecting me!

This is so hard

My baby just turned 8 months and everything is still such a struggle.
I just totally didn't realise how hard having a baby is. Every new phase is hard and I'm constantly second guessing myself, wondering if I'm failing or doing the best that I can for my little boy. Every day feels like a fight and I'm exhausted.
I feel so bad that I wish away his baby months, and I can't wait until he's a proper little fun person toddling around and communicating with me.
I'm sad that this is not how I thought maternity leave would be. I thought it would be happier and full of love. Whereas it's exhausting, and full of anxiety.
Just sharing, in case others feel the same way. I know we'll get through this, but it's just bloody hard in the meantime...

What would you do in a situation like this seriously? when the man you've been dealing with for almost a year now.. comes over your house and eats up you and your kids food drinks and snacks that he is not replacing.

When you bring it to his attention.. he says he's a guest in my home basically. But as soon as he comes over his first stop is literally the kitchen. Because he has no food at his house.. I'm starving to think he literally just wants to come over to eat and snack. When we first started talking.. I used to make him breakfast but once I realized he didn't deserve that i stopped. He drinks up damn near all the sodas and water in the fridge. Eats up all my kids snacks.. I came in the kitchen this morning with one pop tart left, after there was a total of 4 in there. 4 packs of crackers left but 8 total came in the lil box all together.. lastnight he was literally back and fourth in the kitchen.. had about 2 or 3 sodas and atleast 2 bags of chips. Ate a pack of ramen noodles.. which he goes after almost everytime he comes over.. I just put groceries in my house last week. He will come over mainly on weekends because he works.. but never seem to have any money to take care of himself. Am i wrong for getting fed up with this ??
