Anyone else feel like a single mother?

My baby is almost 14 weeks, my husband works full time and I love him so much but I just feel so alone.

He works 9-5, 5 days a week and is tired when he comes home so he has a nap, this means I look after baby 24 hours a day, he might do a bottle or 2, and a nappy change or 2 but I do everything 99% of the time. I have tried to get him to help more but this is what I signed up for being a SAHM😩

I love our girl so much and I love him so much too but I feel like I’m doing it all on my own and can’t keep having the same conversation over and over asking for him to do more to be told he’s so tired! I’m tired too😩 I feel like I’m a single mum and at this point I feel like I wouldn’t even notice a difference doing it completely alone! But I can’t leave because I love him so much!

I do all of the night feeds and then the day so I have her from 12pm all the way through until 6pm and even after that I still lay with her, entertain her, feed and change her.

I just don’t know what else to do aside from rant here!

hugs mama.

i’ve been there. it was NOT easy… but i began to pull away from him and he realized that the lack of help/attention was making me less attracted to him… once he started helping, that spark came right back.

Who was rude?

I went out to eat with my friend Tara. I actually invited her out and wanted to do something nice for her birthday. Since she was not having a party or doing anything special I decided I’d plan a dinner for her and pay for her meal. Now, I have no problem paying for my friends meal I was planning to do it from the beginning. However, Tara brought her boyfriend and her Mother to this dinner with her without letting me know they were coming. Long story short when the waitress asked how the checks were going to be.. I said I’d pay for mine and Tara’s. Tara’s mother and boyfriend told me I was rude to not pick up their tab. Even threw in the comment that I ā€œmust be broke.ā€ Nothing else was said after that. It was awkward for me and I felt like my kind gesture was blowing up in my face. My friend did not say anything to her mother and man for saying those things to me. Which made me feel even worse.

Park etiquette? Making friends?

I feel a little embarrassed to even be asking this but I am terrible at being social and making friends.

Today my son (he’s 22 months) was trying to make friends at the park, it was super cute, but all the kids were a bit older 5-10 I’m guessing. He kept going up and saying hi, followed by his minion language, and the kids just seemed annoyed and gave me the ā€œget your babyā€ look. I totally get it, they are kids, not upset at them at all. I’m more upset at myself because I didn’t know how to help him, was I supposed to pull him away from the kids or let them figure it out?
How do I help him make friends when I see people with kids his age? I brought a beech ball and offered it for them both to play there was 1 other toddler the parent seemed to pull their kid away, I’m like 😳 did I scare the people… the parent was right there. I hate my social anxiety. Anyway.
Main questions. Am I supposed to pull him away from kids that don’t seem to want to play with him? ( they kept getting up and he kept following them till I pulled him away) šŸ’”
And. Tips on making toddler friends at the park.

Thank you

Leaving the house

Is anyone else struggling with leaving the house postpartum?

I’m 12 days postpartum and I’m really struggling with it. The first few days, I could barely leave my room. This week I’ve finally been able to spend more time on the main floor, go into the basement, and even sit outside in the backyard, so I felt like I was making some progress.

I tried to take my son outside in the stroller, but I only made it to the end of the driveway before I had to turn around. Today, my husband and I tried to go out for dinner. We made it to the restaurant, but as soon as we got there I became extremely anxious and felt like I needed to leave immediately.

I don’t really know how to explain it. The second I’m away from the house, I get this overwhelming feeling that something is wrong and I become very anxious. It’s not necessarily that I’m worried about one specific thing—it’s just this intense feeling that makes me want to get back home.

I’m already dreading my in-person midwife appointment on Tuesday because I know I’ll have to leave the house.

Has anyone else experienced this around 1–2 weeks postpartum? Did it get easier with time? I’d really appreciate hearing other people’s experiences because right now I’m feeling pretty alone in this. ā¤ļø

Rejection?

I feel like I’ve been rejected by my LO. When he’s with me or my husband he always cries. Since he’s had his 8 week jabs(is now 12 weeks, but 5weeks corrected), he’s been really fussy. He’s clingy and cries most of the time, it’s rare to get a smile out of him or even play with him for more than 3 minutes before he starts screaming again. We thought he was colicky for a while, but yesterday we went to his grandparents house, and he was a completely different baby. He was happy, he played. He smiled. There was only one point in the day where he cried and that was when he was with me, as soon as I handed him to someone else he was fine. Now, I feel like he hates me, I feel like he’s rejected me and I’m an absolute failure because I can’t make him feel safe with me. I’m his mom, I should be the safest place in the world for him?! I don’t know how to shake this feeling now.. how to fix it.
Has anyone else ever felt this? šŸ˜žšŸ˜¢

9 year relationship over. Was due to get married 4 months tomorrow.

2 night ago my fiance cheated on me with a girl from work who I’ve always been worried about (trust your gut). I feel destroyed, broken and alone.

I have a 2 year old beautiful bestie. She’s my whole world.

We own a house, two dogs, cars and had our wedding and honeymoon all booked. I have no family around here but I do have friends.

Honestly I’m looking for someone to tell me it’ll get better. I cry so much but keep strong for my daughter. She doesn’t deserve any of this and I’m so frightened of her being in a split family (I never experienced this) and honestly having to share my time with her because of his bullshit betrayal. I’m not sure what the plan is, we will all live here together for a while and will try to navigate that the best we can - I actually don’t know how to afford renting alone as we’ve always shared everything and I want what’s best for my daughter. That being said, knowing he’s going out to meet her will be so fucking hard.

Please help me :(

My 12m won’t settle at nursery and I don’t know what to do.

I have been trying to start my daughter at nursery for 2 months now and she just screams and screams until they inevitably call me back to get her. We have been doing a settlement for 2 months where I walk out the room for 1 hour and come back and get her. She screams so intently it actually sounds like she is in pain. They staff will usually call me back in before the hour is up because she is just inconsolable. I am at a loss at what to do now. I assumed this would go away in time but it’s not got better, if anything it’s gotten worse! Her dad has also tried to drop her to see if it helped but she was the same with him. When I am in the room she plays happily and is actually very confident and social. Has anyone else had this problem and did it eventually resolve itself? I’m at the point where I don’t know if I can keep putting her in.
