Have you tried therapy? I had ppd only 5 months after it hit me so hard I had the crisis team in and everything. It was during COVID too so no mum groups, no going out nothing.
I think therapy helped the most because it was some who listened to how I felt without the feedback of really stupid comments from people who didn't understand it. I didn't do therapy to help the symptoms or anything but it helped looking forward to speaking to someone who understood, was independent and confidential & just listened to me for an hour.
Someone pointed out to me (I know bit extreme but true) that sleep deprivation is actually used as a form of torture. Be easy on yourself, prioritise sleep and water before anything else & if you can watch your own shows while baby feeds, put a quick bit of mascara on even if you're just in the house, drink out of a cup with your name on it not 'mum'. It took 9 months of hormone changes to make the baby it takes longer to get back to yourself. Take your time!!

First of all, please donât be too hard on yourself. You never really know how youâre going to feel after giving birth, so I just want to share my own experience with you.
I had what felt like the happiest pregnancy in the world, until I reached 33 weeks. Then I saw just one news story on TV, and somehow that was enough to trigger severe OCD and depression for me. After giving birth, I also started feeling like I wasnât a good enough mother. My mind was constantly filled with millions of thoughts, and I couldnât seem to switch them off.
Itâs been two years now, and I feel so much better and more like myself again. Please remember that this is a temporary period. You are not alone, and things really can get better.
For now, I would try to stay away from anything that causes you unnecessary stress, including upsetting news or social media. Be kind and patient with yourself. Youâre going through a huge transition, and you donât have to be perfect. â¤ď¸
I love my daughter more than anything. I would do absolutely anything for her, and I know this is just a hard day⌠but fuck, I hate this.
I just cannot get a minute to myself.
The ONLY time she stops crying is when sheâs breastfeeding. Half the time sheâs not even feeding - sheâs just using me as a pacifier. Ironically, she wonât actually take a pacifier. Formula gives her the shits and makes her belly grumble, so I canât even have someone else take over a feed and give me a break.
My partner is at work. âWhy donât you ask your mum to come over and help?â
Help how? She wonât stop crying for her. I donât need someone to do my washing or make me a cup of tea. I just want to be able to put a dummy in her mouth or put her down in her bed and have ten fcking minutes where nobody needs me.
I miss having adult conversations. I miss seeing my friends. I miss doing my skincare. I miss being able to brush my teeth without thinking, âI need to get to sleep RIGHT NOW before she wakes up again.â
I miss having a moment where my body and my time feel like they belong to me.
I love her so, so much. I know this stage wonât last forever. I know there will be easier days.
But today is fucking hard.
Iâve never felt so broken

Iâm curious about real life experiences rather than just the official recommendations! How old was your baby when you first let them watch something, and how much did you allow?
Any regrets about starting too early or wishing youâd started sooner? Has anyone noticed anything surprising, either positive or negative, that went against what youâd been told about screen time?
No judgement at all, just genuinely curious about everyoneâs experiences! â¤ď¸

Iâm wanting to buy a momcozy breast pump which is ÂŁ160 on Amazon. Are there any other trustworthy sites that anyone was able to purchase them from for a little bit cheaper? Just thought Iâd ask before buying them off Amazon. Thank you! đ

So Iâve been friends with this girl for more than 10 years. Long story short she never asked how I was during pregnancy not even a message, despite me organising a meet up to tell her. She also didnât come to my baby shower as she had food poisoning. She did congratulate me when I announced the birth but after that no message to say how I am or when she can see the baby. Because I felt upset I messaged her to say when she would like to come and I was abit upset she never messaged. But she literally blanked my message left me on read!! She still views my stories and we follow each other. But since that day no communication at all. Shall I just block her and move on. I find this so heartbreaking and rude am I wrong to feel upset.

Hey! I am nearly 28 weeks pregnant with my first and haven't decided if we'll set up babies room before she arrives or when she's here?
I would love advice from people who have been there.
My thoughts are why set up a room and lose a guest room if she wont use that room for at least 6 months?
But my other thoughts are...
1. Will it be harder to paint and build furniture with a baby?
2. Will the house feel more organised/newborn life be easier if all her bits have a place in her room rather than scattered?
What did you do? and would you do it differently now you've lived it?
TIA x

Baby stage
Toddler stage
For me I feel like the baby stage was a breeze compared to this toddler stage. Don't get me wrong sleep deprivation was a b**.
But this toddler phase, the tantrums, demands, chat back, feels like a different ballgame.
