I'm having major issues it's absolutely heartbreaking.
We've had 1 week of settling & this week started full time (I'm on annual leave so I am in the parent room all day just in case)
She's actually not too bad in terms of settling there. She eats well & plays but she just won't sleep at all at nursery. They have now managed to get her to nap 20mins a day.
She's just left so overtired that she can't shut off at night time. She's constantly waking every few minutes (never done this before). Shes going through a mix of overtired, teething & separation anxiety. Poor baby š
I just feel so bad for her & not sure I can take it much longer. It's breaking my heart seeing her so tired. I feel like I'm failing her.
Has anyone experienced this & has baby managed to sleep longer at nursery?
I really don't want to quit my job because the quality of life we'd be living won't be ideal. However I feel like I may have to if the price is her mental health.
This is just as hard as I anticipated it would be š

I'm going to just sit and hope for some heartwarming stories because we just started the settling in and it breaks my heart š I was told it will be hard but omg

Its so tough but SO common that babies cannot sleep well at the start of nursery. Its a completely new environment and the staff have to work out techniques to get them off to sleep which will be different to yours.
My 3 year old was exactly the same at the start of nursery, he also wouldn't drink any milk there, and it was so difficult at the start as he clearly needed that sleep so badly but would only take little 20 minute naps. However they soon grow to an age where they can cope much better with less sleep, and when my eldest went down to one nap he would suddenly sleep for 2 hours at nursery!! So this is all just temporary and every day they get that little bit older helps so much.
My youngest has been at nursery for around a month now, and he will also only take short naps but they have managed to get 2 in each day and he seems to be able to cope well with that even though he would have longer naps at home.
Its so tough but I think she will settle into a rhythm soon! š¤

Has been very hard. Her settle sessions last week were awful, I had to collect her early as she was inconsolable.
Today is her third day, it's getting better. She was on hunger strike on her first day but yesterday she actually ate something. Her naps are bad there.
She is also still screaming and crying when we drop her off, and we can hear her as we are walking to the car. It's awful but try to remain strong! I know this will be good for our LO and if we transitioned her to school/nursery at later stage it would be even harder!
I hope it gets easier for us all!

We went in to di oaperwork this week but start settles next week and dreading it

My daughterās been going once a week for a while now but starting properly on Monday, the one day she goes is fine and it took her a while to get into the swing of it. She wasnāt napping to start with so she now takes a muslin with her which helped. It took about 6 weeks to fully settle/no more illnesses - but they said that was longer than normal as she was only doing one day. She now naps better at nursery than at home, it takes a while but I would persist and see if itās just the settling in phase first. Then if itās still no good, maybe if thereās an opportunity for you to do part time try that for a while? Iām a little anxious about her being away from me more I must admit but sheās learnt so much and progressed so well being there. It wonāt be this hard forever ā¤ļø
Everyone warned me about the first three months being very demanding and difficult but now that we have overcome, I want to share that you will sleep again, youāll start to enjoy routines and their smiles get bigger so it makes it all worth it š

I need a bit of advice. I donāt know if maybe Iām being a bit too protective or sensitive or maybe easily annoyed.. anyway I feel like all of weight of having the baby falls on me. My partner has 2 older kids but I still have to remind him to give our 5 month old a nap and to change her nappy as most of the time he wonāt do it or says he forgets. Anyway the part that got me tonight was I had asked him if he could please see to the baby the next time she wakes and is unsettled ( i do 100% of the time so shouldnāt be an issue) so he gets up with a moan and she starts screaming uncontrollably and she never is like this. So Iām lying worried like is she ok? He tells her to shut up and that heās gonna be annoyed if he wakes up his other daughter who happens to be staying the night, and then says she needs to not be so loud. So I tell him to take her into another room to try settle her he refuses and says she just needs to go to sleep. At this point sheās going mad so as always it falls on me. Iām already shattered from the every other night wakings so I say give her to me Iāll try. She settles straight away. Am I being too sensitive or am I right to be upset with how he was with her ? Sheās a baby, she canāt control being upset š¤Æš„ŗ

I coslept with my first two and now I cosleep with my third, and much like breastfeeding is natural, it feels natural for me and my baby to cosleep. But now my baby has been admitted into the hospital, and I can't sleep with my baby. It feels so wrong to not have my baby at my side, to have to watch my baby all by themself. I understand the risks that many moms will say, as well as some needing it for their mental health, but I guess now as we are forced to sleep separately it has made me think. I hate not having my baby sleep by me, and I am sure the situation of being in the hospital is what is triggering me to feel this way and write this, as well as my PPA, but I couldn't imagine outside of mental health reasons, not willingly cosleeping.
I think this post was just more of a vent as I watch my little baby sleep in a hospital bed, waiting for doctors to tell us what's wrong

I am absolutely shattered, my 3 year old toddler (who doesnāt sleep the best) literally is barely sleeping now at all! The past 3/4 nights have been absolutely tragic. Admittedly he has a cough, so he might be a bit unwell and I understand the cough keeps him awake or wakes him when heās sleeping however his usual first stretch of sleep is pretty much gone, which we were having a solid 4/5 hours then restless sleep. Usually he wakes around 6am but heās been getting up around 5am, we are currently sat downstairs because weāve given up on sleep. I really struggle to get back to sleep when woken so sleep hasnāt happened at all for me tonight think Iāve had 45 mins and the thought of a day literally running on fumes is making me want to cry my eyes out. Is there a sleep regression at 3 years old or Iām wondering if heās having a growth spur? As heās just had porridge at 5am as well as he said heās hungry! I donāt know what to do but Iām a single mama, so any advice for sleep welcome! I am with someone who isnāt his dad, and we stay his most of the week where he has his own room there but he does not stay in his bed at the minute for longer than an hour! Also we are staying my mums tonight and we share a bed there due to lack of rooms.. I also have a 14 hour day tomorrow at work so I really really need some help! Very desperate with what to do going forward because Iām worried the lack of sleep will stick and heāll just never sleep properly again š¢
