Parking at Southmead

Hi everyone, we are going to Southmead for our 20 week scan next week (on a week day at midday) and was wondering what the parking situation was like at the moment?

When we had our first baby 3 years ago, parking during the week was always a nightmare- usually got one of the last spots in the small carpark next to the antenatal clinic and could never even get near the multi-storey šŸ˜… I’m just asking as the carpark I’ve circled in yellow was out of action for basically the whole of my pregnancy last time so wondered if the situation is any different now it’s open again!

Will probably find somewhere off-site with JustPark to reduce the parking stress if it is still a nightmare, but thought I’d see if anyone has any recent experiences to share first šŸ«¶šŸ¼šŸ˜Š

I’ve recently completed 10 weeks in the Nicu with my Twins and yes the parking is still a nightmare, however in that whole time I think there was maybe one time where I had to wait for awhile to get a space. Generally, they come up and the car park is constantly moving. I would always park in the maternity car park on the hill. if you’re going to park there, give yourself plenty of time. There’s a Costa and a M&S in the hospital if you need to burn off 20 minutes before your appointment.

Parking is still a nightmare, but I used to just go early & there are sometimes spaces but you have to allow enough time to look - or get someone to drop you off and pick you up X

My daughter is now 8 months old but when I was going up for scans the parking was dreadful a few times I had to be dropped and my partner drove around finding a spot, been into a main hospital a few times since and the multi story hasn’t been so bad but I’ve found the earlier your appointment the better
Hope that helps

It is a bit of a nightmare. Although the car park you have circled in yellow is available for parking. I managed to get a space there quite easily if it was early in the morning, but it fills up quickly. Similar situation to the car park next to the antinatal clinic. However, as Chloe mentioned above - people are coming and going, so I found I could hop into someone’s space quite quickly. Give yourself plenty of time and it should be fine.

Thanks everyone, super helpful to know that people come and go quite regularly, so we’ll chance it and leave lots of extra time 😊

Here now having my baby and have been in every week for different appointments… it’s always very busy but after a little while driving around you manage to squeeze in somewhere

I’m there all the time - we usually
Get a space but leave a lot of time so you don’t get stuck 😊 I find mostly it’s better in Brunel building and just wander over. Xx

I always arrive early and if I'm lucky with the first car park then great, if not I have often found luck in the multi storey but I've also got stuck in there before!
