He's too young to be sleep training. You can start good sleep habits like a little nighttime routine, keeping it dark and quiet at night, lots of natural light and some time outside during the day ☺️

Oh bless him, he’s only 9 weeks. Babies are meant to wake up for food and to prevent things like SIDS. It’s biological x

Sleep training at 9 weeks?? Baby is so little 😳 just create good sleep routine for now

Hiya! At 9 weeks I wouldn’t worry about proper sleep training just yet! They’re still so little 🥹 I’d just focus on getting into a little bedtime routine, watching wake windows and helping him settle however he needs. Sleep will change so much over the next few months anyway!
He will still need regular feeds through the night, and will rely on you for soothing as babies that young cannot self soothe yet. All babies are different but you’re more looking at 4-6 months old before attempting sleep training😊

I understand where you’re coming from, but like everyone said:
1) baby is way too young for that
2) in some sense baby will always be too young for that, because sleep training is not biological or natural, it does not mimic anything from nature. It was invented roughly 100 years ago by one or two men who wanted women in the workforce, so the women would have been too exhausted to go to work and tend to their children at night.
Like a smart person said, you wouldn’t leave a fully grown adult scream crying in a room all by themselves, hyperventilating to the point of vomiting and losing consciousness. So why do that to a child or a baby.

What do you have in your mind when you say sleep training? Do you mean establishing a routine and supporting to sleep in age appropriate wake windows? Or do you mean you want to try and make him sleep longer periods overnight?

I recommend reading r/sleeptrain on Reddit because sleep training is more common practice in the US and where I’m originally from (short maternity leave). NHS don’t recommend sleep training.
Learn about wake windows and identifying any sleep associations. 9 weeks is too early to be sleep trained effectively. Mine started sleep training at 4 months but it was up and down. We weaned the dummy cold turkey at 6 months because of sleep associations. He slept through the night more consistently from 7 months unless he’s sick or teething.
Also sleep training does not make child sleep through the night. If they wake up early they just don’t call out their parents.

Even those in the sleep training industry (including mr. ferber himself, who said it was cruel to) say that babies should not be sleep trained before 6 months.
My 1 year old has never slept through the night once no matter what I do , has anyone got any advice for me on 20 yr old first time mum and struggling of a night time

So I've followed the trial on Lindsay Clancy and now my algorithm is full of things on it. Since the mistrial I've seen so many creators posting complete lies about PPD and PPP. Not every mother who has/had it will annihilate Thier families or themselves. They are 2 VERY different things and seem to be being used interchangeably.
Mental health is a real issue and with all this misinformation and judgement surrounding it now it seems even less likely than before that people will try reach out for help. I can completely understand the desire to have her locked up and the key thrown away, but not guilty due to mental state isn't a new defence, in her state the prosecution has to prove she was criminally responsible. Also 11 people didn't think the prosecution proved that she was criminally culpable due to her mental health, that is the law. I am certain if ANY of her/the kids family thought the kids life were at risk they wouldn't have taken the risk so people blaming them is also just annoying me... Am I the only person with a nuanced view on this case!?

I had a miscarriage in May and I asked my sister why she never checked up on me. Her answer was “ I already knew you were sad so I just felt weird asking because I already knew.” It bothered me so much because the grief was so intense for me, and I just HOPED to have someone ask me so I could feel less alone/vent. Her answer pissed me off so bad and made me feel so not important.

My 7 week old seems to struggle sleeping at night unless it’s literally in my arms or in his swing chair in the evening, co sleeping isn’t an option for us as my partner is such a deep sleeper I just don’t feel comfortable with it so often I’m on the sofa with the baby, I’ve got a next to me crib and a Moses basket and he just seems to hate both of them! I’ve tried all different things, he transfers fine just doesn’t seem to sleep for long in them, maybe an hour max! But if he’s in my arms or swing he’s doing 2-3 hour stretches? Just not sure what to do!
