Breastfeeding drama!

No, but here for solidarity. I thought maybe there was a drop in my supply or maybe it's just because they're becoming more aware of the world? Who knows, but it's certainly making me question if she's getting enough milk now!

I think it’s quite common at this age! They say try as soon as they wake up, dark and quiet room etc

It might be because he is starting to show a preference for the bottle. Maybe the milk flow is faster on the bottle and he is getting inpatient in the boob as he needs to work for it...

We have the same issue with bottles i think it’s just because they’re becoming nosier, what works for us is feeding in a dark, quiet room so theres nothing interesting to look at x

My exclusively breastfed baby is the same so it might not be bottle preference! I think it’s the age, there’s just loads more stuff to look at during the day 😂 I usually try feeding my baby before she’s desperate for a feed so she’s hungry but not agitated and then I just ride it out, she’ll be kicking about looking around, latching on and off and then eventually she either has her fill or she’ll lock in and start feeding properly but it is an absolute pain especially if you’re feeding out in public 🥴

My baby is the same but EBF so i wouldn’t blame the bottle. They just get easily distracted and nosey at this age. My son was exactly the same ☺️

Yup, my 16 weeks old is the same. She easily takes breast overnight and in the morning, but gets fussy rest of the day so sometimes I’ve had to give her a bottle instead. I now give her breast when she’s calm / in a good mood and before she gets too hungry so she takes it easily. Otherwise if she’s already cranky then she won’t take the breast at all. What also works for me is, she loves looking outside in the garden, so I put a chair right next to our glass doors at the back so she can face the garden while feeding, and that seems to work, distracts her enough to take the boob. But late afternoon and bed time feeds are bottle for me.

This is so normal. I had the same panic with my first.

I feed to sleep and then the second he wakes from a nap and he has 4 naps a day. Only way he gets enough. Otherwise, he is on and off the boob, randomly decides that he only likes a certain side that day and loves just stopping and smiling at me (incredibly cute but frustrating and leaves me a bit exposed if I’m out and about 😂)
