1st Birthday...

So I know it’s still 6 months away, but I’m a planner 😂😅

When it’s my little lad’s birthday, I’ll sadly be in work. I’m a teacher, which means there’s no booking the day off! I’ll be up at 5:30am and out of the house by 7am, while my wife is taking the day off to spend with him. It feels a bit mean to wake him up just so I can see him before I leave, and I won’t be home from work any earlier than 5pm.
So… there won’t be any cute balloons outside his room when he wakes up, sleepy morning breakfasts and cuddles with Mummy, or getting to see his little birthday face first thing. 🥺

And I know people will say, “He won’t know what day of the week it is — just celebrate at the weekend!” We are! We’re having a family party at the weekend, so that side of things is covered.
But I guess what I’m looking for is an idea for a little birthday tradition that we can do together every year when I get home from work. Something special that becomes our thing, even if I have to miss the morning.

So, what have you got? 🥹❤️

My partner is also a teacher and working there birthday too! So we’re going to go build a bear as I’m sure you get it free with it being there birthday just accessories you have pay for. Going do a little indoor picnic/fort in the evening and make a 1st birthday time capsule/memory box with paint and messy play! (Dreading the cleaning up hahaha) and then just carry out there usual bedtime routine but finish it with a little video to montage them together as they get older! Xxx

My husband and I are both teachers so miss our eldest daughter’s birthday every year. We feel your pain. We’ll also miss our current 6 month old’s first too.
We sell it to her as ‘nursery birthday’ ‘friends/family birthday’ and ‘birthday with us’. It also means she gets more cake so win win for her.
Post nursery birthday days we always have pancakes as she loves them and now she’s older she gets to add in her chocolate chips and then we put a candle in it. Now she’s older we also do a little birthday interview and ask things like favourite colour, favourite toy, things she likes to do with mummy etc. We then get in pjs, snuggle on the sofa and read lots of books (she loves reading) together with a babycino.
You could add new traditions that are age appropriate each year? x

Nausea

Please tell me I’m not the only one!! I have not thrown up at all up until now. I’m almost 28 weeks and out of no where, a smell set me off that bad I threw up?! Not even the worst thing I’ve smelt but it was awful. Just happened out of no where

When did you start to feel normal

For those who have older children, when did you feel normal again? I’m 5 months PP, EBF, had a c-section, haven’t exercised since baby was born, in a roommate phase with my husband, and now blessed with a haemorrhoid (the joys!) I don’t feel like myself yet but when will it get better?

Induction

Any positive induction stories? Due to be induced next Friday, I’ll be 40+1 as I have GDM which is diet controlled.

I had a sweep today - however not dilated at all and she isn’t engaged just yet.

I’m worrying about the induction. 🙈

Toddler nose bleed?

I have a 2 year old son,tonight he was laying in bed for the past hour watching tv- I looked over and he had blood all over his face. He hasnt had random nosebleeds before other than when he hit his nose. Is this something I should be worried about? It stopped before I even noticed it. He isnt wanting me to wipe his nose or look up there but its coming out of one nostril only. Ive never had a nosebleed before is that common?
