When did you start to feel normal

For those who have older children, when did you feel normal again? I’m 5 months PP, EBF, had a c-section, haven’t exercised since baby was born, in a roommate phase with my husband, and now blessed with a haemorrhoid (the joys!) I don’t feel like myself yet but when will it get better?

Between a year and 18 months I’d say. By 18 months I’d lost my baby weight, felt a bit better in myself, had gone back to work so wasn’t just mum all day. I felt more like Yasmin not just Finley’s mum.

It gets better I promise ❤️

I felt more normal when I returned to work after 9 months. I think it's because I'm not just mum there x

Haven't had a c section...but other that ticking all the boxes, sis...

My self confidence so low, so much baby weight, don't feel comfortable in me body so reflects on intimacy with partner, although he doesn't care.
Is all in my head :)

It was probably around 12-18 months. After I’d gone back to work and after I’d used a sleep consultant and was getting better sleep every night tbh.
I’m 5mpp now and I barely recognise myself atm. I know sleep has the most impact on how I feel, physically and mentally. I’m just trying to get through it by telling myself it will all level out some time soon x

I started working on myself, getting a bit of me back, demanding my time w friends time for hobbies and time for me, at around 4-5m. That’s the start though, putting some goals in place and starting my social life back up. I really didn’t feel totally like myself until about 14m, I’d lost all my baby weight I was looking for something more than Pilates/zumba which I’ve been doing since 4m so after a year of that I was “bored”, it wasn’t challenging me anymore, I was looking for a heels class at first but stumbled on free salsa/bachata lessons and that’s what brought me back totally I think, and more. My confidence surged from there, I had something for myself to dress up and go to on a Friday night now that he slept through since 18m. It takes average 1-2yrs for mums to feel fully themselves. It took me 2 summers pp to be confident in a bikini/revealing dresses again.

Nausea

Please tell me I’m not the only one!! I have not thrown up at all up until now. I’m almost 28 weeks and out of no where, a smell set me off that bad I threw up?! Not even the worst thing I’ve smelt but it was awful. Just happened out of no where

1st Birthday...

So I know it’s still 6 months away, but I’m a planner 😂😅

When it’s my little lad’s birthday, I’ll sadly be in work. I’m a teacher, which means there’s no booking the day off! I’ll be up at 5:30am and out of the house by 7am, while my wife is taking the day off to spend with him. It feels a bit mean to wake him up just so I can see him before I leave, and I won’t be home from work any earlier than 5pm.
So… there won’t be any cute balloons outside his room when he wakes up, sleepy morning breakfasts and cuddles with Mummy, or getting to see his little birthday face first thing. 🥺

And I know people will say, “He won’t know what day of the week it is — just celebrate at the weekend!” We are! We’re having a family party at the weekend, so that side of things is covered.
But I guess what I’m looking for is an idea for a little birthday tradition that we can do together every year when I get home from work. Something special that becomes our thing, even if I have to miss the morning.

So, what have you got? 🥹❤️

Thank you in advance

Induction

Any positive induction stories? Due to be induced next Friday, I’ll be 40+1 as I have GDM which is diet controlled.

I had a sweep today - however not dilated at all and she isn’t engaged just yet.

I’m worrying about the induction. 🙈
