My 12 month old has low iron. Anyone have any iron rich plates/meals that you recommend? Anything from breakfast, lunch, or dinner is appreciated. Thank you. 🙏

I get iron into my baby using pasta sauces that is really just pureed healthy foods. He eats it with fusilli or orzo. Red lentils, spinach, sweet potato, Chickpeas, white beans, and peas which are all very iron rich all make it in rotation, and silken tofu which is also good for iron and protein makes it nice and creamy. We're vegetarian so I always give him veggies that have protein and iron. I eat eggs, so I also give my baby egg muffins (fritattas made in a muffin tin) with lots of veggie bits in them - I cut them into little cubes and he pops them in his mouth. Egg is also rich in iron and good fats.

Just out of interest, how do you know they have low iron?
For breakfast, you could try eggs, overnight oats with chia seeds, hummus, peanut butter.
For lunch/dinner, spinach and kale are rich in iron, also tofu, beans, chickpeas, green peas, lentils, couscous, quinoa, and you could add sesame seeds to whatever you can.

My one year old is in the same boat. She’s a very picky eater, so we’re getting by with iron-fortified Cheerios, peanut butter, and fruit and veggie pouches. She won’t touch meat or eggs in any form no matter what I try sadly 😞

Minded beef. Iron from vegetable are difficult to absorb.
You can just buy iron drops as a supplement.

if your baby will eat spinach that was the easiest for me the spinach earths best with the mary Ruth gummy

she went from depleted to perfect in 3 months
There is a family lives two doors down from us and they have 3 kids, a boy, a girl and a baby. The girl cries a lot and it often sounds like she’s being neglected by her own parents. Like she would just let her cry. It happens a lot from evening to nighttime, and it would last between 5-10+ minutes. I once heard them from our garden when the little girl was crying and her mum was banging loudly on something a few times and shouted at her. I know they’re Muslim because she’s got the hijab on. It’s always just the little girl crying in distress.
Almost every night.
I do hear her laughing, but it’s so rare.
What do you think I should do?
I live in the UK btw. I thought about knocking to check on her but I don’t know if it’s safe to do? I have met the dad in the playground before with his older son and he sounded like he loves his son and his wife. It’s just the mum? Idk.

My baby is 12 months old now and I usually feed her by putting bite size pieces of food on to her tray one by one. I noticed that if I put more than one piece of food she will try put all pieces in her mouth at the same time.. 😆
Just wondering what other parents do - are you able to put a full plate of food in front of your baby and they will work away at it themselves?

Hiii i am a first time mum and my daughter is 7 months old. She has been weaning perfectly, loves food, loves being messy, loves shoving everything in her mouth at once but recently it’s like she’s not interested in it. Is she bored of what i’m feeding her? Am i doing something wrong? any answers or advice would be amazing please as i feel like this is effecting her weight gain also 😕

I saw a TikTok the other day where a mum was sharing her rules as a ‘strict’ parent.
her kids ONLY drink water, unless it’s a special occasion/meal, then they’re allowed juice. NEVER pop.
( her children get sugar through other things like fruit, snacks, etc. )
I know most mums allow their kids to drink water AND juice, then pop is what they’re only allowed during a special occasion/meal.
Im currently carrying my first child, so not just there yet. However, I plan on doing only water.
What are your rules?

My son is 8 months old and I've always felt super weird when we're with my in-laws, his grandparents. They are so loving and great with him, just I feel crazy overprotective and uncomfortable about everything. Even silly things like them sitting and reading a book with him, or building towers.
They're doing absolutely nothing wrong, I just feel like I can't relax and I just want him back all the time. Everything just makes me cringe for some reason.
I just don't understand my feelings. They are lovely people, I just feel very weird when he's with them.
This isn't the case with my parents however.
Anyone feel the same or can help me figure out this feeling?

Honestly two kids 3 and 1 it’s just getting so hard. Their dad comes and stays sometimes but isn’t consistent. I just feel so worked up and stressed and tired all in one! I feel like I’m not cut out I feel like they deserve a much better mum than me I’m just so stressed
