Alcohol at kids parties

Im seeing this more and more now.
Personally, i dont see any need for alcohol at a kids birthday party, my siblings however have always had an alcohol room when its a kids birthday party, it usually ends up with most the parents getting tipsy/drunk in the kitchen with their kids running havoc elsewhere with often 1 or 2 parents/grandparents watching over them

there is no need for alcohol at a kids party! if you really need to drink that bad do it in your own time, but not when the focus is on kids safety sounds like a nightmare to me

It's not for me. But I don't judge. Kids parties are often just stressful/boring/hectic so if the grown ups want to do something that's fun for them then as long as it doesn't stop the kids having fun I think go for it! Like I don't think everyone getting wankered is the best idea but getting tipsy is fine? I don't drink so I'd be one of the designated watchers but I'm cool with that lol

My friends and I are drinkers, so it’s very normal for us. But no one is ever tipsy at these things. I’ll have 2 mimosas at the most.

We do not, but have several friends that do. Most of those people drink around their children on the regular so it’s nothing new for them.

I think it depends if it’s a party purely with their friends or your having a bbq with family and friends as well. A lot of people won’t drink and drive anyway or restrict what they do have.

If the party’s at my house then yes, it’s only ever one or two as people are driving, and if it’s more then there will be two parents there for the kid. A glass of champagne at my son’s birthday party ain’t gonna hurt anyone 🤣

The parents come to the party too, so I provide beverages so they can have some fun also.

I grew up with there always being wine and beer at the get togethers/parties. Nobody ever drank that much though, just a drink or two to socialize. I think serving alcohol is fine, but getting drunk its obviously not the time/place for that.

The 8 week peak 😭🤯

I thought we peaked at 6 weeks but leading up to 8 weeks my baby is putting me through it omggg! The crying, the fussing, the fighting sleep, the extra clingy-ness, it went up x10 this week. Every day this week I’ve had to order food because I couldn’t even get 5 minutes to prepare something. Then I’m eating with him literally on my chest. And this is whilst in the trenches of maternity pay may I add. Thankfully my mom is having him tonight so I can have break but then I feel like I’m still not going to get any sleep because I’ll miss him 😅

Anyway my logic is since it has gotten worse it can only get better! How is everyone else’s 6-8 week stage going?

Frequently going to the toilet 💩

TMI 🙈 I’m 38 weeks and for the past week or so I’ve been constantly going to the toilet to 💩 I’ve seen and heard a lot of people say that it’s your body’s way of telling you that it’s preparing for labour due to hormones etc but I don’t know how much more I can take!! 🙈🤣 My belly is constantly in pain. I’ll go to the toilet then half an hour later I’ll be running back to the loo. Did anyone else experience this towards the end of their final trimester?? I haven’t lost my mucas plug or anything like that, just have a constant pressure on my 🐱 which has caused swelling, been leaking more colostrum than normal and struggling to sleep. If anyone has experienced this, how long did it take you to go into labour? Praying I don’t go over my due date 🤣

Rushing into a D&C?

I feel like doctors are rushing my sister into a D&C. She had her first appointment and ultrasound on Wednesday. She thought she was 7 weeks 2 days, but she was measuring 6 weeks 3 days. There was no heartbeat. They scheduled another scan to confirm only two days later on Friday (also seems way too soon to me!). There still wasn’t a heartbeat, so they’ve scheduled a D&C on Monday…I just really feel like they didn’t give it enough time. If she ovulated later than expected, measuring a week behind isn’t a big deal. And I also feel like it’s not super uncommon for a heartbeat to not be detectable that early. Please comment any personal experiences or advice. I haven’t said any of this to her yet because I don’t want to be insensitive. She really wanted this baby and is having a hard time with all this.
