I have a friends wedding which is about a 3hr drive away. Is this cutting it too close to due date to be travelling away from hospital? I could try drive there and back in a day. Not sure what the protocol is so any advice would be great.

I would say its ok overnight as long as you have a plan in place and you are prepared for the slim chance of giving birth outside your trust

You’re fine. Go enjoy yourself. 38.5 weeks is when I’d stop enjoying things especially because babies come after their due date frequently.
Are you the one driving? If not then you’d have plenty of time to return if you went into labor, anyway. My first baby took 15 hours from the time I realized I was in labor.

I think it would be ok, but research hospitals nearby the wedding just in case!!

You’ll be fine. Unless you’ve been told to be on bed rest then go. Search local hospitals as Caroline has said and take your notes/have you app with you always.

My sister drove 6 hours to Thanksgiving at my parents house at 36 weeks pregnant. Her water broke the Saturday after Thanksgiving and she had to labor in the car the entire drive home. She made it to the hospital and my nephew is almost 7 now.
All that to say, you can do it, but it is a risk that YOU have to be comfortable with. Remember, you were invited to the wedding, not summoned. You don't HAVE to go if you aren't comfortable with the circumstances

You’ll be fine, listen to your body and if you feel like you need to stay the night at a hotel before travelling back down then do so. I was doing everything till I had my son at 39 weeks x

I’m going away for a week at 33 weeks about the same amount of time away as you are. Know where the closest hospital is and will probably take some sort of hospital bag. Planning a few days away at just over 35 weeks, probably within an hour or so of hosp, again will take hosp bag & find closest hospital. That was what midwife recommended! Hoping a few days of relaxing with no pets will be good pre birth! Expecting I will be induced 37/38 weeks, just hoping he will beat the hospital to it 🫣

I travelled to Spain from London for a very close friends wedding at 35wks. Midwife signed me off as luckily I was low risk pregnancy but all depends on how you feel and how your pregnancy is going as well. Agree with above posts too that labour can take long time so being 3hrs away is manageable. For context I had contractions for 3 days before going hospital and was still only 4cm 😵
What do we think? I think I see a vvfl but good old line eyes 🤣

Idk if it matters but I feel like my baby has dropped a bit? My pelvis aches more and my bladder seems sensitive/like I have to go more often. So excited now! Also has anyone had a discussion with their midwife or doctor about a membrane sweep? I was curious to ask my midwife some questions about it.

I’m not sure if it’s because I went into spontaneous labour before my planned c section or what but has anyone else suffered pain wise post c section? It’s only day 4 but honestly struggling with the pinching/ jolt stabbing pain on the left side of my incision when I move around and sit down. I know it’s only day 4 but people make out c sections are ‘easy’. Also have such horrendous tailbone pain (which could be from where I was having back contractions). I just want to feel back to normal and feel this is slightly taking away the newborn experience plus my toddler has reduced play from me as I can barely function 😩

Can I ask the mums in England how much they are spending on birthday parties?
Thinking ahead to January as my daughter will be 6. She wants a class party (only 15 of them) and wants it at her gymnastics club.
They charge £250 for 25 children, 1 hour of gymnastics and then 1 hour in the party room.
No food or anything included.
Is this decent or really expensive?
Would hiring a hall end up being similar?
Only bonus is the gym I won’t be able to decorate much so maybe I’ll save some money on balloons etc but I’ll still need to provide food, party bags etc.
I’ve never done a huge class party before only
Small party’s at home!

I’m sitting here chilling at 34 weeks and I see people announcing their October babies in September! One lady posted ‘if your 34 weeks this is what your baby looks like right now’ whiles holding her October 2026 in September 🤯

Hey all
I had a cat 1 emergency c-section under general anaesthetic on 08/09..
Just wondering if anyone has any tips/advice for processing the trauma?
I feel like I’m okay at the moment but it’s going to hit in the coming days and I want to prepare myself
