Question about emotions

Soooi I need to know if I’m being hormonal because at this point I don’t even know if it’s me or the hormones talking 😂 long story short my husband works for a couple hours today. I’m 2 weeks PP. I asked my mom to come over to help while he was at work and she responded with “help with what? The babies ? “ “ I’ll let you know because run going goodwill shopping “ completely broke me . I understand people have their own life. I guess I’m just hurt. My husband is going to reschedule so I’m not alone.

Well. How long in advance did you ask ? I can rationally get that someone can't come over last minuts. Yet the way she said it wasn't being very nice.

I understand feeling disappointed/hurt, but unless it was planned in advance, its not fair to expect others to come right to you whenever you need. Mom has done this many years ago so its not in front of mind to be on call like that.

Your feelings are yours to own and dont even have to make sense, so feel sad!
But to make things better, I'd have husband set things up for you: snack&drink station, entertainment close by, baby supplies within reach. for those couple hours, I would get a nap in and just relax with baby. At 2wks old all there is is sleeping and talking to baby really.

Could be both hormones and valid feelings. Being a new mom and wanting support is normal. People may not always be available so that you are not alone with baby. Do you have a doula or home visitor that could stop in occasionally? While it's normal to want support right now, trying to create a routine to focus on when that's not available can get you through the times your husband works.

Say this with me "my hormones are part of me and are not a disease"

We gotta stop this silliness like hormones are so off the wall when they control pur bodies and are influenced by what we intake for food and tolerate from people....that being said it is sad she cant even say another time she could swing by & it doesn't matter if you asked the same day because lots of gen xers flex that they are grandparents but dont wanna be in the actual role....stay grounded and let her know how that made you feel and do not let her guilt you into feel like you are wrong.

I would be really upset if in one of my most vulnerable moments (pregnancy/birth/pp) my mum had rejected me reaching out to help. I think your feelings are completely valid

I don’t agree with people saying everyone has their schedule. She could have propose an other time or propose to bring you food or Idk but I’m sorry your her daughter . My husband did let a big contact with a client bc our daughter was in NICU. Bc it’s simply his child. And she went through this. Well yeah “an other time” but if you ask for help then you need help that’s it…
I am upset with you now without pp hormones 🤣

A child someone else birthed 37 years ago and now I am being forced to raise

It finally happened, my husband turned into my third child after my second son was born. There’s no other way to go about it.
If one bit of admiration was left, it is definitely out of the window now. I can’t even think about being intimate with him again without getting nauseous.
I’m 3 months PP, and this manchild has been making my life so much harder. He got 12 weeks paternity leave to catch-up on sleep, while I struggled with the C-section recovery and newborn, and he half ass-d with the toddler. Mind you, with the toddler in daycare FT, this man would sleep whenever newborn and I would sleep, and proceed to sleep in another room through the night so we wouldn’t keep waking him up.
Like, what?! In what world is he living on? Am I missing something?
Anyone else having this experience? I just feel like I need to drop him, because aside from financial, the support just isn’t there.

Fish fingers under 1?

Would you give / have you given your baby shop bought fish fingers under the age of 1? I know it shouldn’t be a first choice and would be better to make my own , but as there is less than 0.2g salt in a Birds Eye fish finger and the ingredients are relatively simple, I assume every so often is fine?

I sometimes make them for my 3 YO for a quick dinner and would be easier to not have to do something else for the baby!

Extreme Boy Moms

This might be an unpopular opinion to post on the Boy Moms group. I think it’s inappropriate to rearrange one’s identity around being a boy mom.

For example, my MIL came to me when I was 24 hours postpartum. She said “you are so lucky to be a boy mom. Boys are so much closer to their mothers!” I understand the sentiment, but this should not be shared out loud. Especially when this woman has a daughter. However, she is completely enmeshed with my husband. She keeps on wearing my husband’s clothings from 10 yrs ago(college years) when she comes to visit. When my husband confronts her and ask her to stop wearing clothes he abandoned at the family home. She says “but it’s warm!” To me, when boy moms take it to the extreme like my MIL. I just want to call out the emotional incest bs I see. 🤮

Going off my partner

Myself and my partner have been together just over 6 years and we have 3 kids together but we have known each other for a lot longer. Just lately everything he says and does just annoys me! Like I can tell the kids off about something and then he could tell them the next day and I’m just instantly irritated. We have had a lot of different issues over the years but I really do feel like I’m massively going off him! Anyone been through the same? Anyone got any advice 🤷🏻‍♀️

Am I wrong to feel uneasy?

My son goes to nursery two days a week. Every child is assigned an adult/ member of staff. My son is two and a half and has had this lady for nearly a year, she tells him she loves him every time I pick him up and I overheard her getting him to say I love you to the moon and back to her.
Am I in the minority thinking this is a bit much?
