Probably more a questions for any midwives etc.
My experience in NICU and motherhood makes me want to work with babies and new mothers. Unfortunately im not physically strong enough to become a midwife and I never will be. A mix of conditions mean in reality I will probably never manage to work full time and certainly couldn't lift anyone in an emergency (Or at least not without risk of injury to myself).
I'd be particularly interested in supporting breastfeeding, but also supporting new mothers with newborn care, or supporting the care of babies in neonatal units when parents cant be there.
So my question is this - do i need to give up on this thinking? I cant tell if theres any role that would allow me to do these things without becoming a midwife. I'd rather just know for sure and move on if its not possible.

You could become a lactation consultant?

You could start by volunteering as a breastfeeding peer supporter? My local council run the support groups where I am and I volunteer with them and run sessions and meet parents and provide supoort. I absolutely love it.
You could become a doula?

Doula or breastfeeding consultant would fit you well. When I go to breastfeeding groups I hear a lot of women that became lactation consultants after they had their own experiences. I ha the contact of one of you would like to speak to one of them?
what in the world are we doing nowadays to stay home with our babies?? my husband and i moved into a new house the same week we welcomed our baby and it set us back horribly. i’m a part time server & bartender, but would love to be able to work from home. can you please tell me what jobs we’re doing to accomplish this? if you have one- do you have any leads you can pass on? i appreciate all the help 🖤✨
