Baby peeing through nappies

My 4 week old keeps peeing through nappies - we use cloth nappies predominantly and we’ve tried adding extra liners and sizing up his clothes so that they’re not compressing the nappy. We’ve also tried disposables but he’s just peed through 2 disposable nappies (and vests and sleepsuits) during 1 feed.

Anyone else experience this and have any tips?

For a boy , if not checked already, then make sure it is pointing down, not to the side or up, otherwise it will leak! You may have already made sure, but just incase x

Whenever this happens with my babies I always just sized up on the diaper/nappy and that seemed to help a lot! We only used disposables though.

My only tip is to just make sure it’s tight enough and to make sure he’s pointing down! Was not something I was aware of at first and our boy kept leaking when I didn’t know it should point down!

Is the vest too small? Sometimes if the vest size is a bit tight it compresses the nappy when there’s wee in it and it causes a leak.

We’ve also sized up on nappies and now in size 2

Have your cloth nappies been washed enough? They get more absorbent after a number of washes I’m sure x

Two minor suggestions/tweaks that helped with my first:
1. Have you tried different nappy brands? Sometimes your baby's butt/bits will suit one brand and be completely incompatible with another brand 🤷‍♀️
2. Have you got the "frills" of the nappy out? We get leaks if the frills around the legs aren't out and the nappy gets too full

My other suggestions were all mentioned above, so hopefully that helps!

Tickling

Do you allow family members to tickle your child? I personally find it really hard to watch as I hate being tickled, and although my daughter is kind of smiling i don’t think she enjoys it. How do you tell them to stop doing it? Or am I being over the top?
My daughter is almost 15 months

Baby breastfeeding while asleep?

My 3month old has started to keep drinking while she falls asleep? As in, Im nursing her, shes suckling, and then she nods off but...just keeps suckling? Lazily, but definitely still chomped on. She fights me when I try to break the seal, and if I dont remove the nipple from her she'll sleep-suckle for 20, 30min easily. When I do remove it successfully she wakes a few minutes later, absolutely furious!

Is this a 3month thing? My poor nipples 😢

C-section mums..

How soon after your sections did you go for a bath, I’ve read your not meant to soak the scar/wound in a bath but doesn’t say when you can 🫣 sometimes a shower just doesn’t cut it for “me time” 😅
Also how are people keep it dry, I have a slight overhang so looking for the best way to keep the scar dry without rubbing it with a towel like I want too!

MIL’s

Is it just me or do most MIL’s constantly criticise the way you parent as a mum. She has never really seen my husband do much other than hold baby or change the occasional nappy, and that apparently makes him the best dad in the world! Meanwhile I do everything as the mum and she has never said anything like that to me. Not even the slightest compliment, and I know that I’m trying my best but how do I not let this get to me. My husband doesn’t even offer to take the baby for a while whilst I rest or take a shower, I have to ask!! It might be the postpartum hormones taking over but I just want to be able make it clear to her that I take care of the baby 95% of the time.

3 month old bedtime?

What time are you putting your 3 month olds to bed at night? Mine I do 9pm but I’m worried that this is too late?

Partner not okay with breastfeeding

We started out with a combo of breast feeding and bottle feeding (formula and expressed milk) but I found breast feeding is just easier, quicker, less dishes.

Baby girl is coming up on 8weeks old and my partner is very uncomfortable with me breastfeeding with anyone around. I do my best to be discreet and respectful of his feelings but babies run on baby time. He won’t let me feed our baby if we are in public, I have to go to the car. If his family is over to see the baby I have to leave the conversation and go to another room while they continue to visit.

Has anyone else’s partner been uncomfortable? How did you navigate the conversation of “I’m going to feed our baby- idc if it makes you uncomfortable” without a huge fight?

Thanks in advance for any thought or advice!
