Partner not okay with breastfeeding

We started out with a combo of breast feeding and bottle feeding (formula and expressed milk) but I found breast feeding is just easier, quicker, less dishes.

Baby girl is coming up on 8weeks old and my partner is very uncomfortable with me breastfeeding with anyone around. I do my best to be discreet and respectful of his feelings but babies run on baby time. He won’t let me feed our baby if we are in public, I have to go to the car. If his family is over to see the baby I have to leave the conversation and go to another room while they continue to visit.

Has anyone else’s partner been uncomfortable? How did you navigate the conversation of “I’m going to feed our baby- idc if it makes you uncomfortable” without a huge fight?

Thanks in advance for any thought or advice!

I haven't experienced this but I would say "I understand that you're uncomfortable but ultimately it is my body and I'm not going to be leaving a room in shame every time I need to feed our baby. I need to get used to it and I would appreciate your support in doing that"

I don’t have any advice but I wanted to reach out and say I’m sorry you’re going through this, it seems like a really hard situation to be in!
Breast feeding is a beautiful thing, I’m sorry if he’s making you feel like it isn’t.
I’m sure you are not alone & someone here will be able to offer some advice on approaching this conversation with your partner xxx

He needs to understand that this is a “him problem” and he can’t manage you in this area. He can manage himself and his feelings but that’s it.
You should nurse wherever and whenever you want.

It’s your body. You get to decide who sees it, how much, and when. I’m not personally breastfeeding. We exclusively bottle feed mostly expressed milk. But I have pumped in front of my dad and I would have no qualms about doing it with my father in law. I’d feel a little self conscious about being in public but it’s really up to the personal preference of the woman. He can have a say when he grows boobs that can feed a baby

That's a him problem.
Breastfeeding is a beautiful and NATURAL thing!! If he's uncomfortable by it then he needs to get over it instead of making you leave the room or go elsewhere to feed your baby.
Why is he making it about him? So insensitive of him to make out as if it's a shameful thing for you to do.
I'd honestly just tell him "If it makes you uncomfortable, then you can leave the room, why should I have to leave when it's totally natural?"

I'm sorry but he's being ridiculous! He does not get to "let" you feed where he decides. It's your body and the baby needs fed. I'd actually go as far as to say this is abusive. He's essentially withholding feeds from the baby by doing this and obviously putting you in a totally unacceptable position e.g. Having to leave the room!

Just no. He absolutely needs to get over it. What even is his problem with it? Why is it making him uncomfortable?

What makes him feel uncomfortable? Are you covered or uncovered when you breast feed?

My partner would just have to deal with it, to be honest.

I'm not just flapping a tittie in the breeze for shits n giggles.

He honestly needs to grow up.

Tickling

Do you allow family members to tickle your child? I personally find it really hard to watch as I hate being tickled, and although my daughter is kind of smiling i don’t think she enjoys it. How do you tell them to stop doing it? Or am I being over the top?
My daughter is almost 15 months

Baby breastfeeding while asleep?

My 3month old has started to keep drinking while she falls asleep? As in, Im nursing her, shes suckling, and then she nods off but...just keeps suckling? Lazily, but definitely still chomped on. She fights me when I try to break the seal, and if I dont remove the nipple from her she'll sleep-suckle for 20, 30min easily. When I do remove it successfully she wakes a few minutes later, absolutely furious!

Is this a 3month thing? My poor nipples 😢

C-section mums..

How soon after your sections did you go for a bath, I’ve read your not meant to soak the scar/wound in a bath but doesn’t say when you can 🫣 sometimes a shower just doesn’t cut it for “me time” 😅
Also how are people keep it dry, I have a slight overhang so looking for the best way to keep the scar dry without rubbing it with a towel like I want too!

MIL’s

Is it just me or do most MIL’s constantly criticise the way you parent as a mum. She has never really seen my husband do much other than hold baby or change the occasional nappy, and that apparently makes him the best dad in the world! Meanwhile I do everything as the mum and she has never said anything like that to me. Not even the slightest compliment, and I know that I’m trying my best but how do I not let this get to me. My husband doesn’t even offer to take the baby for a while whilst I rest or take a shower, I have to ask!! It might be the postpartum hormones taking over but I just want to be able make it clear to her that I take care of the baby 95% of the time.

3 month old bedtime?

What time are you putting your 3 month olds to bed at night? Mine I do 9pm but I’m worried that this is too late?
