Does anyone else’s baby scream when your husband/partner is trying to put baby to sleep? My little one is 7.5 months old so I know they go through a seperation anxiety but I go back to work in January and I work long shifts and will do some nights and I won’t be here for bedtime. My husband has put him down before but with the sleep regression I did all the nights for a good month or so because he only settled with me. We have tried him just trying to settle him but then he is crying so much he chokes so then I come up and he instantly stops crying. Has anyone experienced this and does anyone have any advice how to we are supposed to get our baby used to his dad putting him to sleep? It’s something that is taking a toll on me feeling always needed, dreading going back to work, my husband feels upset that he won’t settle with him too. TIA

I don’t have any advice for you. But I thought I’d let you know that I’m in the same boat but reversed by little girl who is also 7.5 months will only settle for her dad at bedtime! And it upsets me that she will just scream and scream if I try to and it makes me dread when my partner goes out for an evening football game as I know I’ll just have to try my best and handle the screaming until he gets home.

You could try a slow transition with dad being present for bedtimes and don't some parts of a bedtime routine together and just him doing some parts

Possibly, I hope so as I never had this issue with my others not wanting me before now it used to be the same as you and them not wanting dad at all.
It was soley me in the beginning as she’d only settle on my chest and we’d co-sleep as it made nighttime breastfeeding easier. Then both in turns not necessarily equal but shared. then suddenly (tmi but I got a really bad period so I slept on the sofa as not to disturb her and my partner from me constantly getting up) just my partner also during a sleep regression and teething period and been like that for about 2ish months I’d say. Now just won’t settle for me at night and barely during the day. My partners gone out once thinking if she doesn’t see or hear him that she might settle but in fact just cried the entire 5 hours he was gone.
I know with my other 3 that they did eventually settle for dad but I cannot for the life of me remember when as there’s a good chunk of age gap as she was the random surprise baby 🫣.

Yhh i will be don't night shifts at some point too so i get it!
Yes he could absolutely do the wash and stay while you put him down
You could try settling him for the most part then when he's asleep give him to dad to cuddle for a bit before putting him down. Then after a couple of days give him to dad just before he falls asleep and see how he takes it? He might cry a bit but maybe because he's already very sleepy he might settle? Then over the next couple of days continue until he stops crying with dad, then again start giving him to dad a bit earlier each time. Eventually he might let dad start the settling to sleep process after bath
Do you allow family members to tickle your child? I personally find it really hard to watch as I hate being tickled, and although my daughter is kind of smiling i don’t think she enjoys it. How do you tell them to stop doing it? Or am I being over the top?
My daughter is almost 15 months

My 3month old has started to keep drinking while she falls asleep? As in, Im nursing her, shes suckling, and then she nods off but...just keeps suckling? Lazily, but definitely still chomped on. She fights me when I try to break the seal, and if I dont remove the nipple from her she'll sleep-suckle for 20, 30min easily. When I do remove it successfully she wakes a few minutes later, absolutely furious!
Is this a 3month thing? My poor nipples 😢

How soon after your sections did you go for a bath, I’ve read your not meant to soak the scar/wound in a bath but doesn’t say when you can 🫣 sometimes a shower just doesn’t cut it for “me time” 😅
Also how are people keep it dry, I have a slight overhang so looking for the best way to keep the scar dry without rubbing it with a towel like I want too!

Is it just me or do most MIL’s constantly criticise the way you parent as a mum. She has never really seen my husband do much other than hold baby or change the occasional nappy, and that apparently makes him the best dad in the world! Meanwhile I do everything as the mum and she has never said anything like that to me. Not even the slightest compliment, and I know that I’m trying my best but how do I not let this get to me. My husband doesn’t even offer to take the baby for a while whilst I rest or take a shower, I have to ask!! It might be the postpartum hormones taking over but I just want to be able make it clear to her that I take care of the baby 95% of the time.

What time are you putting your 3 month olds to bed at night? Mine I do 9pm but I’m worried that this is too late?

We started out with a combo of breast feeding and bottle feeding (formula and expressed milk) but I found breast feeding is just easier, quicker, less dishes.
Baby girl is coming up on 8weeks old and my partner is very uncomfortable with me breastfeeding with anyone around. I do my best to be discreet and respectful of his feelings but babies run on baby time. He won’t let me feed our baby if we are in public, I have to go to the car. If his family is over to see the baby I have to leave the conversation and go to another room while they continue to visit.
Has anyone else’s partner been uncomfortable? How did you navigate the conversation of “I’m going to feed our baby- idc if it makes you uncomfortable” without a huge fight?
Thanks in advance for any thought or advice!
