Is constant crying normal for a 2 week old?

My 2 week old cries almost all the time unless being held or fed. Is this normal at this age, or should I be worried? Any tips for coping or helping to settle them would be appreciated!

I don’t know what normal is if I’m honest, my first had colic and cried til around 11 weeks and my second has silent reflux and is still not the happiest baby at 15 weeks 🫠
What behaviours do they display physically?

This was normal for me and my baby, we did start her on probiotic drops that the midwife recommended and it seemed to help. She has calmed down a lot more now at 3 months ❤️

This happened to me. Turns out I wasn’t producing enough breastmilk and baby was starving for weeks 😢 only found out when midwife visited and weighed him

My 2 week old, is very fussy at the moment and doesn’t cry unless he is sleeping on my chest or being fed, I feel the same way too!

Have you consider going to an osteopath? My daughter was the same, and was a completely different baby afterwards. Birth can build so much tension in their body xx

I also came here to search for same symptoms for my baby girl nearly 3 weeks old.
How can we weigh our baby? The Health visitor came but didn’t weigh my 2 week old.
I’m thinking to book a GP appointment. Please share some suggestions.

Tickling

Do you allow family members to tickle your child? I personally find it really hard to watch as I hate being tickled, and although my daughter is kind of smiling i don’t think she enjoys it. How do you tell them to stop doing it? Or am I being over the top?
My daughter is almost 15 months

Baby breastfeeding while asleep?

My 3month old has started to keep drinking while she falls asleep? As in, Im nursing her, shes suckling, and then she nods off but...just keeps suckling? Lazily, but definitely still chomped on. She fights me when I try to break the seal, and if I dont remove the nipple from her she'll sleep-suckle for 20, 30min easily. When I do remove it successfully she wakes a few minutes later, absolutely furious!

Is this a 3month thing? My poor nipples 😢

C-section mums..

How soon after your sections did you go for a bath, I’ve read your not meant to soak the scar/wound in a bath but doesn’t say when you can 🫣 sometimes a shower just doesn’t cut it for “me time” 😅
Also how are people keep it dry, I have a slight overhang so looking for the best way to keep the scar dry without rubbing it with a towel like I want too!

MIL’s

Is it just me or do most MIL’s constantly criticise the way you parent as a mum. She has never really seen my husband do much other than hold baby or change the occasional nappy, and that apparently makes him the best dad in the world! Meanwhile I do everything as the mum and she has never said anything like that to me. Not even the slightest compliment, and I know that I’m trying my best but how do I not let this get to me. My husband doesn’t even offer to take the baby for a while whilst I rest or take a shower, I have to ask!! It might be the postpartum hormones taking over but I just want to be able make it clear to her that I take care of the baby 95% of the time.

3 month old bedtime?

What time are you putting your 3 month olds to bed at night? Mine I do 9pm but I’m worried that this is too late?

Partner not okay with breastfeeding

We started out with a combo of breast feeding and bottle feeding (formula and expressed milk) but I found breast feeding is just easier, quicker, less dishes.

Baby girl is coming up on 8weeks old and my partner is very uncomfortable with me breastfeeding with anyone around. I do my best to be discreet and respectful of his feelings but babies run on baby time. He won’t let me feed our baby if we are in public, I have to go to the car. If his family is over to see the baby I have to leave the conversation and go to another room while they continue to visit.

Has anyone else’s partner been uncomfortable? How did you navigate the conversation of “I’m going to feed our baby- idc if it makes you uncomfortable” without a huge fight?

Thanks in advance for any thought or advice!
