Glucose tolerance test

It’s seriously not bad at all. You just have a very sweet drink nothing that will knock you off. You stop eating the night before and you can eat after having your last bloods. Honestly don’t worry about it x

It’s absolutely fine, I actually enjoyed the drink 🤣 it’s just quite boring as you’re not allowed to leave so take an iPad to watch something or a book or whatever x

I thought it was going to be disgusting because I had read of so many people complaining about the sugary drink, and instead it was pretty neutral (not tasty, not bad). I just went there fasting, had a blood test, then drank the sugary drink and then waited 2 hours for the next blood test while reading a book. It was pretty relaxing to be honest ahah

You can’t eat from the night before. They take your blood then you have the drink, wait a couple hours and then have blood taken again! I think the drink is orange flavour! It’s not as bad as it sounds you’ll be fine!

I was dreading it, but it was honestly not that bad at all. The drink didn’t really have much taste, was just so sweet.
The worst bit is waiting in between the 2 blood tests as it’s boring and hospitals are so warm! I caught up with my programmes though. X

Honestly wasn’t as bad as you hear about! I think it depends on the hospital trust as I was allowed to leave and come back after my 2 hours where up.

First pregnancy it wasn’t bad at all, 2nd one it was disgusting🥲 but i have bad morning sickness this time around that i didn’t have last time. But at least they let me leave! First pregnancy i had to stay in hospital. Once you’ve got through the drink its not a big deal honestly

I dreaded it and got into a rabbit hole the night before on TikTok. It was absolutely fine and I lost sleep over nothing. The drink was fine and I felt okay.. was just starving and bored 😂xx
