Honestly I'm trying to avoid as many visits as possible. The birth and initial postpartum period was quite traumatic for me so I needed to protect my peace.
Now things have settled, I dont mind visitors provided they dont turn up unannounced!
I'm not inviting people round but if they ask, I will suggest a timing that works best for me and baby.
I’m happy to have visits i just don’t know if i should be expecting people to let me know that they want to visit or initiate visits with them myself

The way i see it is, if they wanted to see me/baby then they can call or text to ask how we are and if we are up to visitors. Then we can decide if we see them or they come to us but if they cant be bothered then i will not be inviting people round. They can sulk about it if they want but i dont beg anyone to be in my childrens life. They can miss out

I’ve not invited anyone round, I’m happy for people to visit my baby and come see her but I won’t make the first move as whoever doesn’t bother to reach out to me isn’t worth reaching out to, and honestly if you can’t be bothered to ask about me and my baby then you don’t deserve to come see her

I can see it from both sides. I had a friend get upset that I didn’t ask to come over when she had her baby, but I was just giving her space to enjoy her bubble (still messaging and checking in), but equally I feel it’s quite annoying when you see just trying to relax and enjoy your baby and people keep pestering you for when they can come by.
I’ve just messaged a few friends and family to say we are opening up for any visits and to let us know when they are free.
One thing I would recommend- only have one visit a day and keep a couple of days a week free from anyone coming so you can genuinely just chill out. It’s quite exhausting hosting people and not everyone understands not to stay for hours! X
(FTM) My 6 month old is currently teething. Nights are becoming super difficult but we’ve found having one dose of calpol before bed keeps him happy. Is it ok to be doing one a night? We don’t do any pain killers in the day as he seems fine without but without those distractions he’s fussy. We have tried alternatives like Bonjela and teething powder but they don’t seem to do much if anything.

My boys are 13 months apart. They are 9 and 8 but my 9 year old is in clothes between 10/12 and 14s depending on brand and my 8 year old is in size 8s. But I keep catching my 9 year old wear his brothers clothes then it’s a fight with him and he doesn’t want to take them off I literally have to take them off of him myself and make him put his own clothes on him.
How do I stop this?
Also they share a room and I separate their clothes the best I can.

My little boy is 8 weeks and we are struggling with bed time. I am breastfeeding and just started with 1 bottle a day that my partner gives around 7pm. We then have an hour up when I’m usually having dinner then start getting ready for bed around 8pm and down for 9pm.
He is a Velcro baby and I cannot put him down without a meltdown (especially in the evenings) so trying to get myself ready for bed is always quite traumatic even if my partner has him. He then gets really worked up just before bed which I hate. He won’t accept a dummy so that isn’t an option to help settle. I then give him his last feed which sends him off to sleep (which is the only way!) Is anyone going through the same or has any tips? We’re not in a set routine yet and feel a bit all over the place and that I’m just guessing with everything atm

My breastfed baby won’t take a pacifier. I bought the MAM 0-2 month one and he will spit it out or gag on it once he has a few sucks. Thing is I’m finding it really hard to put him down as he won’t settle without being carried. My firstborn was bottle fed and took the pacifier immediately but with this baby I don’t know which one to try! Any recommendations?
