I hate getting told ‘it’s not going to get any easier’

I am having a bad day today with baby as he is being extremely fussy. I’ve been non stop crying. I went into the doctors to pick up a form and the receptionist said aww he’s so cute. I then replied he’s been a nightmare today! Then she said well it’s not going to get any easier. Thanks! Just what I wanted to hear 😐 you get told it all the time and it annoys me.

Absolutely promise you it does get so much easier!! I’ve got a 2 1/2 year old and 5 month old. Babies this age are HARD WORK!! Once they can start moving and don’t feel so frustrated by being stuck, I promise they get easier!! There’s so much to look forward to, my 2 year old is constantly kissing/cuddling me, telling me he loves me, plays by himself, helps me do chores 🤣, plays with me, shows me things he’s drawn. Promise lovely, it gets easier 🤍 xx

OMG i know, 'just wait until their teenagers!' Etc

Every stage has peaks and troughs. And it does get easier, as you learn how to handle things

It gets easier in that you get more proficient. Babies are intense and can't clearly communicate, from around three it's more like communicating with a person who has strong, sometimes illogical, opinions. So second time round baby seems easier since I've done it before if that makes sense? All stages have their nightmare days, but so far it's just gotten better according to my view, my eldest is 3.5 years old.

Coming from a mum of 2 under 2, it does get easier, I promise. Every stage has its highs and lows and you will always have tough days but they soon pass. As my (very) soon to be 2 year old gets older, I have loved each phase that little bit more than the one before. Each time I think she can’t get cuter or life couldn’t be better, it does. I’m sure people who say this either haven’t had kids or just want everyone to be miserable. Just remember you are doing a brilliant job!

Just commenting to say you’re not alone. I just came home today to have this same chat with my partner. It was the same in pregnancy too. Not sleeping well in the third trimester? Just wait until the baby arrives, then you’ll get no sleep at all. What is even wrong with people? Inside voice please if I didn’t ask for their two cents. It’s like they want humanity to just finish, constantly scarying new parents…

Omg I’ve heard that so many times as well it’s so depressing and unhelpful and also I think it really depends on the child. I know people who love babies but hate the « terrible two’s » and i know some people who didn’t have super difficult toddlers but really struggled with their babies so I think it just really depends on the child. Just keep latching on to the idea that it will get better and easier. I don’t know about you but I’m already finding 6 months easier than 4 months even if it’s far from easy and he still gets super fussy some days. You / we can get through this! 💪

Frustration with NHS and medical system in UK

Is anyone else frustrated with how things are done here. I’ve had a few minor issues at the end of my pregnancy and the low effort, misinformation and just general care here is terrible. (I’m European)
I’ve just had a consultant tell me don’t bother with Strep B testing. 1h later I had a private test booked and the lady was so concerned the NHS disregard this test.
I’m 37 weeks so I’d advise anyone to do it so you can get treatment.
I never get my test results for blood work send to me, I have to spend hours chasing on the phone.
They constantly mix up my appointments and I also just learned from a midwife that the urine test they do is so basic it doesn’t actually catch any infections. They check for glucose and I forgot the other thing.

I’ve done most of my scans and tests privately and will continue to do so.

I feel very uneasy to give birth and it’s stressing me out. :(
