Sorry in advance for the long post, but wondering if anyone has experienced the same…
I woke up Saturday evening/Sunday morning with unbearable, constant throbbing across my back deep into my ribs. This spread across the front of my ribs and the constant dull ache made me feel like I was going to be sick. It more feels like something behind/beneath my ribs rather than my ribs themselves.
Called triage and got asked to come in to the maternity assessment unit, baby was fine and all my obs came back fine also. Nurse was unsure what was causing it so we waited for the dr.
Dr said she suspected trapped wind and severe heartburn, gave me some omeprazole and an anti nausea tablet and sent me on my way. Luckily pain had eased by the time I got home so could make to fall asleep after being awake all night.
Two nights later the exact same pan started again, but omeprazole didn’t help at all - was just up all night in pain.
Had my midwife apt this morning and she says she’s not sure what it is either, but doesn’t think it’s trapped wind or heartburn - I said I agreed as have been passing gas fine, regular bowel movements etc. have had some heart but the past few weeks but nothing gaviscon hasn’t helped.
She’s told me the next time it happens to come back in, even if baby is fine during the episode, I’m clearly not if I’m unable to sleep through it.
She’s ruled out pre-eclampsia, was just wondering if anyone has ever had anything similar in their pregnancy and what the issue was/what helped ease it? Really hoping it doesn’t happen again as it’s exhausting me and is quite painful!

Could it be a trapped nerve? I didn’t get it during pregnancy but have had one a couple of times under one of my shoulder blades which has caused radiating pain around my ribs and into my chest.

I had this going into my third trimester, blood pressure and every was fine and the just gave me codine (which I didn’t end up taking) fast forward to 36 weeks and 5 days I went for a growth scan and was told my blood pressure was high at my previous midwife appointment a couple days before which I was not told about, had to go to get checked in triage was there for hours and was told “bloods are indicating not preeclampsia but it might be” was booked in for an induction a week later. Every day I was told “maybe be preeclampsia we don’t know” I was so stressed! I was prescribed blood pressure medication and brought myself a blood pressure machine and they both helped. I gave birth to my gorgeous baby boy at 38 weeks. I hope this is not the case for you but I would definitely recommend pushing for answers. Symptoms I had that I didn’t think anything of was rib pain specifically on right side, grown pain sort of aching pain in right arm/ shoulder and a little bit of breathlessness and

I would go see the GP for a second opinion. Probably nothing but check your bloods etc just to be sure. X
I’m currently 36+5 and have been in 4 times so far with reduced movements. I have low PAPP-A so have been advised to keep an eye on movements but now that I’m getting closer to term I’m worried about being induced. This is my second baby and with my first I went naturally at 39 weeks, so an induction scares me! Obviously I want what’s best for the baby but I feel like I’m talking myself out of going into triage again just incase they suggest an induction! Has anyone else experienced an induction due to reduced movements?

Hello everyone. I have a son who was born April 5, 2024... And I just found out that I am pregnant with baby number 2, but little bean is also due in April 2027. For those of you that have kids born in the same month, how do you handle or prepare for this?

This is my second pregnancy and I’m 37+2 (due 5th Oct). I got told at my midwife appointment baby is engaged. Can this mean labour could come soon?

I am 42 +1 today. I still am measured at 1cm
and 50% effaced. Everything looked great on scans. I can’t remember with my previous pregnancies how dilated I was before birth. How dilated were you before active labor?

Looking for some similar stories please. I’m 26+2 weeks and I’ve been having growth scans every 2 weeks because the baby is measuring small (especially her head). Following my growth scan today, the fetal medicine unit have called asking me to go in for a specialist scan. The woman scared the life out of me on the phone saying it could be chromosome issues etc. has anyone had any experience with this?
